They finished equal on points with us in a season we hadn't got Europe and they were in the UCL and got to the QF. Which is why im saying is unfair to compare. all you have to do is look at 3rd place Man united rn. So many of the teams above us don't have European football. 4/9 teams in europe are in the bottom half of the table. Every manager will tell you how much harder it is to juggle both. Yeah villa started off the season badly they should have been all but out UCL contention but they managed to go on a crazy run and fought for ucl until the end thanks to a good january transfer window. We had an opportunity to do that. We got knocked out of Europe earlier. All we had to do is concentrate on the league this month.

Thats just an unfair comparison though. the season they finished 7th Emery only came in November in GW 14. Since then villa has no full season outside of Europe to even properly compare with. I don't understand how they are doing the same thing as us when they are consistenly in Europe and we aren't.

No as emery has had 3 turning to 4 consecutive seasons in Europe. Howe has been Yo-yoing in and out. That's the biggest difference and why i think it's unfair comparing as Howes best seasons have been outside of Europe

To think if we had won the 2 and drawn 1 of of last 3 games. We would be 6th. if villa win europa and end up 5th it would be ucl again. It was real that simple.

Controversial opinion. He doing well in a non European football season is nor impressive. Im sure he will turn thing around next season with no Europe and 8+ other teams in Europe. He is yet to prove he can handle a European season and won't be able to next season so we end up in the same cycle.
