The problem is too many teams know how to defend against us in the league. It's so simple for them to do.

Conference will be 8th. Europa 7th. I can't see us not getting europa we are competing against Brentford, everton and Fulham for those spots.

According to opta 60 points would be enough for top 5 (which is what chelsea are projected to get) that's incredibly low it's all still possible.

I just realised for us to match last seasons tally we would have to be on an even better form than man city have this season from now until to final game.

There is no way in our current form we could get battered like that in the first half and then go on to win the game away from home.

The difference is Forest were and are a relegation squad. Aston Villa have been fighting for UCL spots for a few seasons now. I can't see them dropping the way Forest did.

This is exactly what I've been thinking. A player you need to wait to settle in should be costing £25m max. £40m is what you pay for a player who is up and ready to go.

We would most likely achieve it again next season without any UCL/European football.

I fear we've been scammed

We were never going to get any of those players that's the problem. People are complaining about the summer window when so much of it was out of our control and will most likely happen again in the future.

But will he get a better summer though. Because ffp/psr/scr makes is incredible difficult to have a good summer.

We can take not consistently being in the UCL (for now) but we can't have another season outside of Europe and we barely made UCL last season. We need stability. It feels like only 5 teams right now can go into a season knowing they are going to get a European spot and we ain't one of them. It's not like we haven't spent a lot of monet because we have. Next summer is going to be even harder. Idk what howe is going to do tbh.

Exactly. getting european footballing while playing in europe means we are going in the right direction.

My big problem is that to be a top team we need to be getting ucl consistently and right now we aren't even getting europe consistently. We almost missed out last season. The fact we spent so much on depth and we are where we are is concerning. We managed to turn it around last season but this season its going to be harder.

Yes could get better but we would need 7 team above us for start doing worse for us to get a shout of top 4/5. There's too many teams in the mix imho.
