  1. I think Martinez would have been a brilliant signing for them so hope it doesn't happen. He makes a few mistakes but I reckon he makes up for it with his all-round keeping and feet.
  2. Yeah we've literally been going for top strikers all summer. If we'd taken £110m last month I doubt Brentford would have turned around and just let us have Wissa for £35-40m.
  3. Think it'd have been a 10 without the Isak fiasco, him staying and signing one of Woltemade or Wissa. Always going to be hard replacing one of the best strikers in the world, would have been a 9/10 window if we'd got Ekitike or João Pedro as I think they'd have been perfect and could match Isak's level. We'll see if Woltemade can do it.
  4. I think the striker situation is hard to judge. In terms of where Wilson was last year we've went from a 10/10 and a 5/10, to probably two 7 or 8/10s. I was expecting Isak to be here when last season ended and we'd get stop gap back up options like Calvert-Lewin. If the two new ones start scoring I think we're better off.
  5. Fair play Pardew (I feel sick). The host and McAdam wanking themselves silly over what a great transfer window it's been, then he jumped in saying PSR is a disgrace and its holding back the likes of Villa, Palace (I'll give him some leeway this once) and Newcastle. Says the Premier League need to look at it. Guy sat next to him agreed (not sure who it is). Host and McAdam looked sheepish.
  6. 7.5 Think we've strengthened the squad massively, the ceiling hasn't improved though and I don't think there's much we could have done with the Isak situation once he started acting up.
  7. All Osula offers is a body. You could put Dan Burn there and it'd be the same output.
  8. Any idea on the buy back clause? To be fair if he goes there, they polish him and he becomes a £50m player or something and that's the clause, brilliant.
  9. What a sale that is. Maybe we knew we were shafting these so thought we'd go up on Wissa/would accept the Isak fee to get shot.
  10. Only if you think you're getting a striker who's just scored 19 goals for anywhere near £25m.
  11. If Wissa & Woltemade can get 25 league goals between them then it's been a success. That's what Isak & Wilson managed.
  12. Chris Marsden would have shoved Wilson off the ball and scored.
  13. He'd have been on our bench anyway since Pope is irreplaceable. Least he's had a few league starts.
  14. Les Ferdinand was £6m at 28/29 at a time that was a monster fee. Probably similar to £50-60m in today's money.
  15. £5-10m overpriced but think he'll be brilliant.
  16. Have we even made an "out of the blue l" deadline day signing since Sibierski? Think if we sign someone it'll be Larsen or Wissa and that's it.
  17. It does feel we dropped the ball at some point. Whether it was Staveley, Mitchell, Howe, it seems clear Isak's been told something and it's not happened. The way he's went on has been abysmal but we might have at least got a few games out of him and a few goals/points before he left. Mitchell is the easy one to blame and it's probably him, with him losing his job as a result of it. If it was Mitchell though and we've acted by sacking him, Isak could have given the squad and Howe the courtesy of showing up until we fixed things, whether it be a contract or selling on the right terms.
  18. Has Pete Graves been relegated? He's been on the road recently for Sky Sports rather than presenting.
  19. It's not like we'd be taking on a no-hoper and just praying. We'd be signing someone who has over 1 in 3 in La Liga & the Premier League over the last 3 seasons. I don't think it'd take much time under Howe to get that nearer 1 in 2.5 or 1 in 2 with the way we play.
  20. I bet Bayern will hate us if that happened.
  21. If Jackson is back on the table I'd take it. Think of everyone realistic, he has the highest ceiling. Think Howe could do wonders with him.
  22. Some of this thread has been pathetic the last 12 hours or so like.
  23. Okay, take NUFC out of the equation. It's like Shearer kicking up a fuss to get a £10m move to Man Utd..
  24. This would be like Shearer striking after Euro 96 and a Blackburn fan being buzzing at receiving a £10m British record for him. I'm not happy at all with the fee, or even selling at all. Just get a striker in and crack on but I can't see any good in it.
