What an utterly depressing night of football.

The 'marrative' when we beat a big team e.g. PSG, Arsenal, Liverpool: "Team X are nothing special, we'd give them game" The 'marrative' when we beat run of the mill PL opponents: "The standard of PL is shocking, we're a much bigger club than Team X, we'd be comfortably midtable in this years PL" The 'marrative' when they lose to some pish team like Oxford, QPR or Stoke: "We're not good enough marra, sack the manager, sack the board, sell every player except O'9 for 20 million each" We couldn't have been blessed with better rivals.

At what point do they stop being 'everybody's cup final' and just become another once famous name amongst a sea of dross? I think it probably happened somewhere between 2018-19 but I get the idea their fans still hold onto this notion.
-
I watched Bilbao play Rangers twice. They are worse than useless, Man Utd have nothing to worry about.
-
Woke club. No one cares about them. A less detestable version of MK Dons.
-
Am I right in saying that they also claimed Wimbledons FA Cup win as their own until very recently. The phoenix club working their way up and eventually establishing themselves at a higher level than the franchise is one of the great triumphant tales of English football.
-
I wonder if we could hoodwink them into taking Jamal Lewis on a loan with obligation to buy?
-
Roundabouts?! I thought they were paying homage to the Papa Johns stalls they have in their concourses? Milton Keynes isn't that bad ladies and gentlemen. Bletchley Park is one of the best museums I've ever been to, their Asda & Ikea stores are gargantuan, the Tesco Express shops use little robots to deliver shopping and their equivalent of Northumberland Street is indoors. Visit MK now.

Does anybody have a link to a good DHGate seller who does kits that aren't made out of kitchen roll and disintegrate after 1 wash? Not sure if this is the right thread for this kind of thing, if not please let me know which is.
-
23/24: Home - Meh Away - Decent Third - Jazzy 24/25: Home - Fine, but the cup win has elevated it to legendary Away - Class Third - Sexy AF Not gonna rank the GK kits cause no one over the age of 8 cares about them
-
At first glance, it seems a bit of a shanner, but I think it'll grow in time. Like every kit, it will live and die depending on how well we do in it next season. I wasn't overly blown away by this years kit but it'll go down as an all timer now that we've won something in it.

Look at the state of most expensive signings in PL history only VVD and Rice could be considered an outright success. Jury still out on whether Fernandez, Caicedo and Gvardiol will ever live up to their billing, but as it stands they hardly represent value for money. #15 is Havertz to Chelsea fwiw

Gee whizz, thats utterly pathetic. Even if all those players were in their prime, they still wouldn't threaten the top 4. Especially if they play the formation the article suggests: GK RB CB LB RW CM CM LF FW FW FW Not only Boro, but I dare say other dross teams like Stoke, Wigan, Swansea and Norwich probably have better PL 11s How dare these slugs consider themselves our equals.
-
I think Defoe and Bent are the only Sunderland players I can ever remember being remotely impressed with and slightly jealous that they had them and not us. Even then, those two wouldn't even threaten a NUFC 25 man squad from the PL era. Shearer, Isak, Cole, Ferdinand, Ba and Wilson are miles clear imo.

Ah shit wrong forum!

I honestly can't believe any of you thought I was being serious with my Jamal Lewis comment, by Christ he's an abomination of a LB, he's the first one we need to bin. Maybe stick with your gut instinct next time
-
A young man still learning his craft, playing in the greatest league in the world, getting better every week. Let's not write him off just yet.......
-
Listen Paul, it's not that hard, here's how it goes: GK - New no.1, that much is obvious. Keep Pope or Dubs as no.2, preferably Pope unless we can get a fee for him in which case Dubs is fine. For 3rd choice keeper, try to find a young up and coming English keeper. I know we have Ruddy & Gillespie for the quota thing but they're never going to play so it's a waste of a squad place, go get a keeper who can make something of himself here. Nearly forgot about Vlach. He's a bum. Get him to fuck. LB - Tino, Trips and Burn can cover in Halls absence. Ideally I'd want another real LB but we have more pressing issues this summer. Punt Targett. Jamal Lewis is a fantastic prospect who deserves another chance, start him most weeks. RB - Least of our concerns, providing Trippiers form doesn't fall off a cliff next season. Loan out Ashby or sell him to anyone willing to give us something close to what we paid for him. Krafth is still servicable in an emergency. CB - A purple RCB is priority, pace and youth is a must. Schar is ideal back up for RCB. Botman and Burn are sufficient for LCB. I wouldn't be against taking a chance on a young CB to bring through the ranks with a view of replacing Burn & Schar in the near term. Give Lascelles a painting of a Spitfire and a bouquet of roses and let him ride off into the Championship to see out his days in the lower leagues. CM - Longstaff needs moved on to whoever will take them. He's played his role but the fact of the matter is we have outgrown him and there's reasonable chance of fetching some decent money for him. Willock can go too if the right offer comes in, otherwise he's fine as a rotational piece. We need another 2 CMs (3 if Willock goes), one of them to be in the mould of Joelinton or to at least share his minutes is a must IMO, without Joelinton we lack physicallity and aggression, we need a wrecking ball to set the tone. Get the idea of selling Joelinton into the sea. Bruno, Tonali are unsellable, I wouldn't entertain selling Miley either unless someone offers a kings ransom. RW - Purple is a must. No projects, no fucking around, get us guranteed quality. Murphy is perfectly fine as back up. Get Shola to send Kuol to Partick Thistle or something like that. LW - We good. ST - Watching Wilson now is tragic, send him to the glue factory, he is absoluely finished. Bring in a good striker who is happy to play 2nd fiddle most of the time but will also get his fair share of starts, a Chris Wood type player essentially. Use Osula as a swiss army knife and play him accross the front 3. Sell Isak and we riot. To summarise: Needs in order of priority: RW(purple)>CB(purple)>GK(purple)>CM>ST>CM(project)>CB(project) Spend whatevers left in the piggy bank on youth prospect/PSR flips. I make it sound so simple don't I?

Jammiest bunch of cunts ever, typical Newcastle to be in a week to week shootout with a team like that! If Forest fell into a barrel of thumbs they'd come out sucking a tit.
