I know he gets a bit of a bad rap cause he comes across as a bit of a dope and the whole Almiron thing etc but Jack Grealish is a good guy. He helps out a lot with charity, fans who've met him often say how approachable and down to earth he is. If money wasn't a factor, he'd be perfect for us, an exciting flair player, a big personality and a canny lad. Unfortunately, money is a factor, so it's a non starter.

For me, there's a difference between noise and atmosphere. The noise is what the ultras provide and a lot of the time it's orchestrated and detached from the ebb and flow of the game. The noise ultras create sometimes encourages the rest of the stadium to join in depending on the context of the game, though a lot of the time they blend intk the background. For example, in the Celtic vs Hibs game this weekend the Green Brigade were singing, Hibs scored and you could hear the Green Brigade as much as you could hear the Hibs fans celebrating. The atmosphere is something that happens organically, if it's a high stakes game, if you team have just scored or have the momentum or if the away fans are making a racket, that all encourages a good atmosphere.

Pretty much every league has only 2-4 teams with a realistic chance of winning the league. Some countries have just one team who win everything all the time bar the odd freak season, PSG, Bayern, Celtic spring to mind. We as Newcastle fans have spent enough time in the doldrums to understand that there's more to football and following your team than who wins the league at the end of the season.

That's the first time I've watched them since we played them in the cup and my flabber is gasted by how woeful the level of football was between two of the leagues better teams. I'm raging at Coventry for being so incompetent, to be honest they done themselves a favour by not getting promoted, they'd be lucky to reach double figures in the PL. To any Geordie going to bed gutted that they won, think about how you feel now and now try to imagine how they were feeling when we got taken over, qualified for CL and won the LC. Their displays are such a cheap, tatty, half arsed attempt to match Wor Flags. Which is great cause you just know they'll watching our wonderful displays and be burning with rage deep inside, knowing that our displays looks class and they don't have a (black) cat in hells chance of organising anything on that scale. But they're not physically programmed to give us any sort of credit so they'll put it all down to 'Saudi backed flags'. Eventhough their displays are horrific, I'd naturally want to give kudos to the fan groups who at least put in the time and effort to give it a go, but they're a bitter bunch of wretched cunts so fuck them and their pish displays. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the consensus is that the dynamic of the derby has changed significantly since we were last in the same league as each other, the lows of a defeat now significantly outweigh the highs of a win. If we skelp them = "You're the richest club in the world, we've just been promoted, you should be beyting us" If we win by 1/2 = "All that money and you barely beyt us, we're one or two players away from challenging you" If we draw = "Ha! Still can't beyt wa! Given the gulf in finances, that counts as a win, North Eyests top dogs marra!" If we lose = I'm not even going to imagine what they'd say There is no iota of a doubt who the best team in the North East is, there never will be again, we have nothing to prove by beating those slugs twice a season. I get the feeling most of us are happy to seem them decompose in the lower leagues for all eternity, subjecting their fans to nothing but abject misery. I know they'd be humiliated in the PL and they'd get shat back down to the Championship quicker than you could say 'wheeze keeys are theyyyz' but I don't want them experiencing a single nanosecond of the joy that winning the play offs would bring.
