  1. Just when you think someone has everything in life. Snatched away in a split second.
  2. Tragic. Thoughts with his wife and three young children.
  3. DCL is worse than Wilson. I’ve never seen the former play well and his stats speak for themselves. I’d pick Osula over DCL any day.

PSR’s working exactly as it was designed to. The cartel clubs are ring fenced and play by different rules in the transfer market to the rest of us. Our way through this is - to invest in young talent - hold on to Eddie at all costs - grow our income. This is the end game and will be heavily dependent on the two points above. We, basically have to prove that money isn’t the only way to success, hard though it will be.

Can you kindly stop introducing facts. You’re disrupting the narrative.
  6. I swear some people would be happier now if we’d signed a couple of players in this window not capable of holding down a first team place, now or in the future. Our strategy on transfers is quality, not quantity and it has clearly been working. Because of PSR we cannot afford to make one mistake in signing a wrong (expensive) player, whereas the likes of ManU can, repeatedly, and still beat us to signings because they can pay more. It’s very unfair but that’s the way it is. NUFC needs to be smart in the transfer market and we are.
  7. Gabigol (Barbosa) did similar while playing for Flamengo when he was photographed wearing a Corinthians shirt. Went from hero to zero with Flamengo’s fans in an instant and has now left the club. It’s an a-hole move - very unprofessional and vengeful, benefitting no-one really.

That’s a hell of a ‘jump.’ All I remember is an interview where he was, to say the least, non-committal about a move. That’s not usual for a player who’s keen on it. My immediate thought was ‘he’s not that bothered’ so I don’t want him to sign.

Why this? I don’t remember any comments from him? If he’d pushed for the move he probably would’ve come.
  10. Não tem problema! Estevão is now a Chelsea player I believe, Veiga is 30 and I don’t think De Arrescaeta’s that young. Some good players in Brasil don’t adapt well to Europe and those that do tend to be in Spain. Look at Gerson - plays really well for Flamengo but only lasted a season at (was it?) Olympiakos. There are some exceptions thankfully - big Joe, Bruno and, hopefully playing for us soon: João Pedro!!
  11. I agree, it should be but doesn’t appear to be. All the best South American players play for European clubs so it’s clear the timing of the tournament is important. I was thinking yesterday, why aren’t northern and southern hemisphere league seasons made to coincide. Would it be so bad for European teams to play through the whole summer and have the off season during their winter?
  12. The season in Brazil is less than half way through and being the world club champion has always been a massive thing in Brazil (they are perplexed/don’t believe as to why noone gives s f*ck about it in Europe. The South American teams have a large advantage due to the timing of this tournament but they are also used to playing a lot more football (believe it or not) than European teams.
  13. Legs have gone. Saudi bound.
  14. I wouldn’t get too attached to your bollocks. Even Dino Zoff had done f*ck all at Trafford’s age.
  15. Never been to London then?
  16. Right, so that’s Elanga and Garnacho too expensive/aren’t good enough. So what about this Yamal kid at Barca? We have a manager with a proven record of (greatly) improving most of his players and a scouting team that has consistently identified players that have gone on to improve, whether we signed them or not. It’s great to debate the merits and values of potential signings but once we actually go after a player, you’d be brave to be disappointed if we sign him.
  17. There’s Elanga, and there’s Elanga trained by Eddie Howe. Got to trust our manager’s judgement - only he knows how he wants to play him and will have a good idea of what he can do.
  18. Wokists, try to develop a sense of humor (impossible).
  19. How dare you. This is the mackem slayer we’re talking about.
  20. Reports in Brazil - Igor Jesus has signed for Forest from Botafogo (sorry if old news). I have doubts he will transition well to the PL.

I get the impression that a few words have been removed from the end of that sentence (perhaps the first one was ‘pile’).
  22. Since PSR was introduced. I’d love us to sign Bowen for footballing reasons and I agree he’d be a good fit. But, due to the beloved PSR, it would likely be a big mistake. He’s bound for one of those badly run clubs who p*ss money up the wall but can still spend whatever they want on whoever they want.
  23. When I first saw the headline it was a case of WTF? but now it does appear to be a genuinely amicable separation and with little/no predicted adverse affect on the plan for this window. All leaves me asking the question: why is he leaving? The only guess I can make is that due to Eddie’s outstanding performance again this season there could be some ‘going over Mitchell’s head’ between EH and Eales/PIF? Mitchell always comes across well in interviews but as mentioned above, some internet crackpot ITK is far more believable than the true source itself for information for many people.
