    U23s & Academy

No snooker, no darts, no bookies. What kind of Academy is this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwlAvS7MeTI
  2. The only way out of this is to start developing the kids quickly. The youth teams have made progress. 2 youngsters a year into the first team. I think Yasir understands this. However, I think Eddie prefers a trusted Murphy to blooding Park Seung-Soo. If Anderson and Minteh were with the club now, would they be playing regularly? I'm not so sure.

The best start to a game that I've watched for a while. The full U21 game.
  4. Do you think the lack of transfers this window is because they will be getting rid of Eddie in the summer?
  5. For everyone mentioning the academy, I think this is it. Let Suds see what he can do here. Recruit the best youngsters with a target of one, ideally two a year to make the step up to the first team. It takes time, but if you can't compete at the top end, then compete from the bottom. If Newcastle had Cobham, would we be in a better position?

No more balloons please. We've had enough in the recent past.

Neave and Park look the best on the pitch and Neave gets his hattrick. HT 0-3

Neave slightly further back as the 10 with Wooster as the 9.

    Yoane Wissa

£55M is an amazing price for a 29 year old. I hope he scores more than 55 goals in his time with us.
  11. Interesting. Eddie trying something new? or trying to mitigate for the chaos that is Osula?

Keith Downie has been saying that Wissa is specifically eyeing the iconic number 9 shirt.
  13. If the club accept a bid, they should go public and say, " we have accepted a bid from Liverpool, Alex is free to sign for them once he puts in a written transfer request"
  14. I enjoyed the Duncan Ferguson episode. Maybe he could fill in a little rat.
  15. He sparked enough interest to wonder what some of Eddie's coaching could do for him. Will he get the chance though? I can only seeing it being in midfield, as It looks like the next RB off the rank might be Sahar.
  16. From that interview, if Eddie can't get a tune out of him, no-one can.
  17. For some reason, I have an old Depeche Mode song playing in my head. The handshake seals the contract From the contract there's no turning back The turning point of a career In Korea being insincere The holiday was fun-packed The contract, still intact The grabbing hands grab all they can All for themselves - after all The grabbing hands grab all they can All for themselves - after all It's a competitive world Everything counts in large amounts
  18. We've had 2 x DoF's and a CEO that has had to quit. If they are taking their time to get it right, then I've no problem with that. Hopefully, these new guys will be very "creative".
  19. Reports of him going to Leyton Orient?

I honestly think this is the only way we break this glass ceiling, but done with a view of playing them and not using them for profit. Eddie has already proven with Livramento and Hall that he can develop players that slipped away from Chelsea's youth set up. It will be interesting to see how Miley, Sanusi, Munda, Sahar, Neave, Murphy and Hernes develop, along with the new boys Cordero, Sahlia and Park. I think Eddie can make 90% of players better, so if has better ingredients to begin with, it can only be good.
  21. I think Eddie will find out pretty quickly if he wants to keep him around the first team. I imagine that he will know after this trip.
  22. When Eddie came, he inherited a team of badly coached players and made massive improvements to Joelinton, Schar, Murphy etc Are there any good players that are currently badly coached in other clubs that would be an option? They'd be much easier to sign.
  23. I'm sure Eddie will learn a lot, now that he is at the top table for players and there is a lot of competition for them. He's such a good coach that maybe the way to get over this hump is to sign 5 promising, youngers players around £30M and let him do his stuff. The likes of James McAtee etc However, he will know that he has keep his job to be able to do that and he has to keep the team performing in the here and now.
