Ba and Cabaye were my first thoughts. I do wonder what he could’ve done with Mitro but equally not sure he would put up with him.

If you could have any Ashley-era signing for Howe’s team today, who would it be and why? The player would join us at the same age and profile they were when they signed under Ashley.

I had 3-0 today. Willock owes me a couple hundred quid. Joe, DM me and I’ll send you my bank details lad.

Lewis Miley: signs six-year contract extension (Official)

Absolutely superb. Already getting hard thinking about being able to sell him for £100m for FFP in a few years. That’s what football is all about. -
You’ll not see a better individual performance in world football today than Big Joe.

What the fuck is that Wirtz decision? He’s further offside than Wissa was. My big issue with VAR and offsides is the still they used to determine Wissa was offside was after the ball had already been played, the ball is clearly moving through the air rather than when contact with the ball is first made. That fraction of a second could make all the difference. They’ll never be able to perfect that so we’re measuring people’s toe hairs being offside (unless you’re Liverpool and we apply a new tolerance) yet we can’t even get the right frame to measure.

Got it spot on today, much better. Hopefully we continue this momentum.

Impressive that even though the 3 promoted teams were awful last season, at this point in the year Leicester were only 2 points from safety and Ipswich 1. Compared to West Ham being 4 points adrift and Burnley 6. If Forest beat West Ham on Tuesday, it’s basically all but over.

Exactly this. You just know he has a 2026 mood board set up at home.
-
Why wouldn’t he? It’s the only job in world football that you can go to, do badly at and come out of it the other end with your reputation in tact because “it’s Chelsea”. You get a multimillion pound payout and your pick of the top jobs across the world. Alternatively, you have a bit of success and still end up coming out with the same.

I don’t really have an issue on his comments on Plan A/Plan B, I can certainly see the logic behind it. The problem I have is I’m often not really sure what Plan A currently is as we look disjointed and lacking cohesion. I’m also slightly confused by his comments on the players needing to execute Plan A better because his lack of substitutions, or substituting the wrong players is my biggest gripe with him. If Bruno isn’t executing Plan A, get him off and get someone on who will rather than taking off an easy target like Barnes. It does help though, going into games knowing this is his thought process as I won’t sit screaming at him to do things like Wolte and Wissa up front, as I now know it isn’t an option. Keeps the blood pressure down.

Fuck me I know people like to defend Howe to the hilt but we’re now suggesting to sell our record signing because Howe is incapable or unwilling to find a way to effectively use him? Howe has always struggled with the big gap between our midfield and defence, let us sell Tonali too.
-
Top 8 is basically the Sky 6 + us and Villa. I think that is a solid target to be in and around those teams. I’m not sure we’re in a position to expect to finish above any of them each season based on PSR/budgets, but you can almost guarantee at least two of them will have an off season each year which then puts us in and around the CL spaces.
-
If we signed Ekitike I think we’d be comfortably in the top 5. He would’ve been absolutely perfect for us. That said, I love Woltemade, but the biggest challenge we have is Howe implementing a playing style to accommodate him. Hopefully it’ll all work out in the end.

So you can knock someone down as long as the ball is within playing distance? And this is a quote they’ve actually thought long and hard about before releasing publicly?

Newcastle United vs. Crystal Palace: 4/1/26 @ 15:00 (Sky Sports)

We have an extra two days on them, they’re in a terrible run of form, a key player went off injured tonight. 0-2. -
I’m sure it’s happened loads before and I’ve never noticed but none of the teams in the top 8 of League One won today. Must have busted a fair few coupons.
-
They’ll finish mid table/top of the bottom half but thank fuck they’ll go down next season like second season syndrome, they’ll be worked out and other clubs will take their better players. Orgasmic for them, finishing 11th.
-
In any other universe could you imagine a PL top club appointing some bloke who had managed Derby, Hull and Strasbourg without a single honour on their CV?
-
It feels like that in the league as a whole this season. It’s really difficult to pick out an obvious win each week as so many teams are capable of a fuck up.
-
No goals, no injuries and we’ve found 6 minutes from somewhere
-
At least 8. 4 if they score.
-
We all know this is going to end with a late Liverpool winner, don’t we?
-
If we turn up to Anfield this year and put in our usual Etihad/Anfield surrender I will be absolutely furious these are complete toilet.

It’s so refreshing having players who care about the club. Years of players having ice baths in wheelie bins and none of them called Ashley out.
