  1. Not a chance does he last at Chelsea until next season He’s like a posh, educated and well spoken version of Nathan Jones.
  2. Saw a very good point made earlier about where the 5cm tolerance was last night on their disallowed goal Not a chance Haaland was further offside than Wirtz was a couple weeks ago.
  3. On 0 points in that international cup competition. 0 goals scored and 10 conceded after 4 games against Benfica, Zagreb, PSG and Sociedad.
  4. Has a moment of brilliance, with a great touch to bring the ball down and play a pass. Seconds later, he spoons a simple pass and gives the ball away. Feel like he needs to play himself into form. Although it might be white painful watching that happen. I’d start him and Barnes at Wolves.
  5. Sandro’s chance was a decent one, for someone of his quality.
  6. Snatching at chances and visibly desperate for a goal or two. He’ll come good.
  7. Other than benching Barnes which I massively disagreed with, I don’t think he did much wrong today. Wissa should’ve scored and us being 1-0 up after 5 minutes changes everything. We also had multiple chances at 0-0 and 0-1 to get a goal. Woltemade being an inch taller, or the ball bouncing in a slightly different direction at times and we finish that 1-1.
  8. It’s almost like these rules keep coming in that benefit the bigger teams with bigger budgets and bigger squads.
  9. Should’ve been sat on the bench at Wolves, not tonight.
  10. The last part of that game reminded me of the AC Milan game in the CL a few seasons back. Desperate for a goal, but extremely leggy and therefore wide open at the other end. Too many of the players weren’t at it today. If we want to win those games we need everyone on form and we didn’t have that. Disappointing, particularly being 2 down as that puts it well out of reach in the 2nd leg away from home. Need to bounce back with a win at Wolves and against PSV and things will look rosey again.
  11. It’s only a one off 7-0 defeat to Liverpool. It’s not that deep. It’s only the Carabao Cup, Grimsby deserved it. It’s not that deep. It’s only a 15th place finish, our worse on record. It’s not that deep. It’s only a record 9 home defeats. It’s not that deep. It’s only sacking support and catering staff. It’s not that deep. It’s only one leak in the stadium roof. It’s not that deep. It’s only a record 17 league defeats. It’s not that deep. It’s only 15 straight league away games without a clean sheet. It’s not that deep. It’s only the first time since 1982 we were knocked out both domestic cups in the first attempt. It’s not that deep. It’s only staff meals cancelled. It’s not that deep. It’s only raising ticket prices during our worst moments. It’s not that deep. It’s only signing Dan Ashworth and immediately sacking him, costing millions. It’s not that deep.
  12. White is totally the wrong mentally. Arsenal fan I know reckons he doesn’t care for football at all, it’s just a job to him and he does the bare minimum as a result, always the last in training and first out. Allegedly also why he’s said he’s not interested in an England call up.
  13. I think it’s better to judge their recent results/performances against Brighton, Chelsea and Sunderland rather than their game against League One relegation threatened Exeter.
  14. Expect we win tonight. They’re not at it at all, will probably make changes and Howe sets us up perfectly for these games at home. Far less confident in the away leg, but then again I thought Arsenal would turn us over away last year and we absolutely schooled them.
  15. Some bloke who’s only managerial experience is being sacked by Middlesbrough in the Championship given the job because he’s free, cheap on wages and used to play for them Fantastic how far they’ve fallen and keep striving to reach new lows.
  16. Fair play to them for releasing all of that. Clear, transparent and answers some lingering questions.
  17. Heard it contains a release clause to Liverpool so he can join Isak in the summer.
  18. Impossible not to in the early days due to the hangover of Ashley’s regime, both due to the lack of quality on the pitch but also the significantly low commercial income and facilities. We had to make substantial signings to get out of relegation trouble initially and then again in the summer just to compete. We were then in the CL and had to make further signings to ensure we could just tread water rather than end up going backwards. Maybe they could have sold a Gordon or a Bruno, but we’d probably have not won a cup if they did.
  19. It’s fairly obvious refs just make it up rather than any exact science or calculation behind it. However, if you stopped the clock every time there was a throw in we’d be adding 15 minutes to every game. There were 53 throw ins during our game at the weekend, even just 15 seconds per throw in would see an extra 13 minutes of added time across the match.
  20. Even now I wouldn’t have total confidence in us not going full Newcastle and messing that up.
  21. Comes from the top, like us with Ashley. Everything done on the cheap, staff being made redundant all over the place, facilities deteriorating, people over promoted into roles they’re not able to fulfil. What message does that send throughout the club?
  22. Budget Bruno getting hacked really has topped off another good weekend of association football.
  23. That shite bairn they bought on just encapsulated everything Man Utd. He couldn’t believe Brighton players tackled him on every run, so he threw in a dreadful challenge and was rightfully booked. A short while later throwing a complete strop as the referee dared give a foul against him and got sent off. Entitled.
