Robster
Its a bit different comparing a player with his first serious injury to a player who is constantly crocked but whatever floats your boat Every time Ledley has returned from an injury he always plays a blinder. hmmmmmmmmm whats your point? Every time Ledley's been injured? Implying that he's been injured a fair bit. yes and Robster was comparing Lennons injury with Owen NOT ledleys injury. Fair enough. Still think that CM partnership is of any use then? But it does back me up KD Owen doesnt get picked because he is always injury prone yet King does? johnnypd
malbranque and barton wouldn't make a good partnership as they're both attacking midfielders. barton gets a reputation as a tough tackling defensive midfielder cos he likes to put a foot in and play rough, but so does steven gerrard who is fucking shite playing DM. both are attacking midfielders, tho admittedly barton is a bit more box to box. playing someone as weak and carefree as malbranque in centre mid has to be compensated with a specialist anchorman imo, ideally someone with a bit of presence. not saying KD is "deluded" or "pathetic" or anything, as he probably doesn't know that much about barton other than the stereotype mentioned above, and anyway half these best-of XIs end up with the best XI players out on the pitch, rather than the most balanced or coherent side. no one puts a makelele in the best-XI-in-the-world side but fills them up with gerrards and kakas, cos it's much more fun basically. Rich
Can't believe Rich has posted this slagfest thread then just fucked off. What a twat! I knew this would kick off after the match was over with, I've got four pages to read since I last saw it. Marvelous.

Fair point KD. I think I was looking at it from the general spurs fans point of view as apposed to specifically yours. Sad point is that of the top 4, the only player any of them seem to want it Berbatov. Think that speaks volumes.
Teasy
Both Arsenal and Manure were linked very strongly with Martins and Owen.

thewellander
The Spuds are going to regret not strengthening their defence more than they did over the summer. One of my best friends is a tottenham supporter, and he totally fits the mold of what you're all saying they're like in England. I hate talking footy with him. You can only go about five seconds into the conversation without him mentioning Berbatov.
alpal78
Tbh Milner ahead of Lennon is just as pathetic as Robbo ahead of Given. Any impartial football fan will tell you that. Sorry that post just undermine your own credibility. Even if I accept that Lennon is better than Millner, do you realze the gulf between Given and I'll flapped the ball to the nearest striker that you call your goalkeeper? A more apt comparison between the two keepers would be like comparing Lennon against Carr playing at right wing.

Jamie87
Actually sick of the stereotype the North gets. All this shit in the papers about the Mido chants, fuck sake! Go to a Millwall, West Ham, lots of other fucking Lahnden clubs games and you'll hear a lot worse, but fuck me they can get away with it. A northern club doesn't turn up for a game and they get relegated, a London club plays an illegal world beater and they get £30 million whilst a northern club gets fucked all over. The only northern clubs the FA and papers ever say anything good about are Liverpool and Man Utd, no fucking wonder when there are so many fucking glory seeking twats that support them in Lahnden. I mean this Mido thing is rediculous, actually rediculous, and the papers are creaming themselves over it, the Graundian dragging up all that Emre shit once again. I actually think we should become a seperate state and league. All these articles about racism and they are only applying the same kind of stereotyping to us in the North, as feckless, moneyless, racist, biggots. Dr. Nguyen Van Falk
Given chimbonda king Dawson Bale Lennon Barton Malbranque N'zogbia Berbatov Owen (if he proved his fitness) Subs: Robbo, Kaboul, Milner, Jenas, Bent or Martins Dawson and Bale made me laugh out loud, same with Malbranque. I'd take King, Berbatov and Lennon from Spurs. That's it. And Cacapa will prove himself to be a better defender than King too blueyes.gif

SEMTEX
Given Chimbonda Faye/Cacapa/Rozenhal King Bale Lennon Jenas Barton N'zogbia Berbatov Martins I was shocked at the shit options available for centre mid. I also like Taarabt but feel it'd be odd to put him in on the basis of 2 games.

Baggio
Lennon is overrated but he's still a better player than Milner, he also makes a bigger impact on the rest of the teams performance.
thenige
I'm amazed either set of supporters would have Lennon in their side. He has to be one of the most over-rated footballers of the last ten years. He has pace and a bit of trickery, but I can't see much more that makes him any different to someone like Agbonalahor or even Dyer before his leg break. He can't pass, can't cross and mentally for someone who can get two yards ahead of anyone, his thinking is five yards behind. I've seen quite a lot of the player having quite a few Spurs supporters as mates, and even they have began to realise what I've been saying is true. Honestly I don't think he's have the player SWP is.
