I haven't mentioned what a fucking great player Ashley Young is yet today. So here it is.

He's a fucking great player. All over the shit in the first half, quiet in the second, the pops up with that fantastic ball in for the winner.

And he also knows how to celebrate a winning goal against hated rivals. By eating a young lady's arm, of course.

Absolute class player, I'd love to have him. Does he always play on the left, cos he's right footed isn't he? I'm sure he could go right, him and N'Zogbia on alternate sides would be fucking deadly.

Apologies for ranting about this, but this is what our horrible neighbours are like.

Letter written by Villa fan to Birmingham City outlining what happened yesterday. Incredible that this kind of thing can go on in this day and age.

Apparently, after the game they were lobbing lumps of concrete into the enclosure where they were holding our supporters. Kids, old people going down, the lot.

Dear Sirs

Please feel free to redirect this e-mail if it has been directed to the wrong department.

I am writing to complain in the strongest possible terms about the behaviour of a number of "fans" and "stewards" at todays game.

I am an Aston Villa supporter and was sat in the Railway Stand Row 21 seat 5.

As you are probably aware that meant my seat was directly adjacent to the home fans sat in the Kop Corner,

Unfortunately for me, that meant i had to endure 90 minutes of abuse, missiles, death threats, lighted objects and general hate and bile.

What is most annoying is the general lack of intervention from your stewards, there was a line of stewards stood there but they were as useful as a chocolate teapot, they made no attempt to stop fans in home sections leaving their seats (on many occasions, seats many rows away from that section) to scream abuse and bile and hatred in our direction, fans were able to walk up to them smoking cigarettes (i was under the impression smoking was banned???) and throw lit cigerettes into our section, again without fear of censure from the stewards, and as the game progressed an ever growing list of objects were thrown into the section by supporters in the Kop Corner section.

First coins, then a lighter, bottles full of urine, a full bottle of tomato ketchup, amazingly a can of WD40 (what happened to fans being searched upon entry to the ground?)

On all occasions objects were thrown attempts were made to raise concerns with stewards, each time we were met with a firm response that they had seen nothing so could do nothing...i ask the question...WHAT WERE THE LINE OF STEWARDS DOING AT THE EDGE OF THAT STAND IF THEY SAW NOTHING?

Finally this culminated with a young girl of no more than 15 being hit in the face with a coin thrown from this section...it hit her millimetres under her eye, im sure you can imagine we can all count our blessings she was left with merely a cut rather than losing her eye... but surely this could have been prevented by more consistent and diligent stewarding?

I wont even begin to express my disgust and anger at the actions of the police and fans of your club after the game, i will direct those complaints to West Midlands police.

But i ask these questions:

Why are fans continually allowed to throw objects into the away fans sections?

Why were no fans ejected from the Kop Corner despite them being identified by a number of Villa fans?

Why were stewards so totally ineffective and unhelpful?

Why were fans allowed to walk up to stewards whilst smoking, throw their lit cigarettes into the Villa fans section, and walk back to their seat without a steward intervening?

Why were fans able to stand by stewards, direct abuse and threats towards Villa fans, make throat cutting gestures, and not face any action from the stewards?

What is the point of stewards in this section if they do nothing to prevent this behaviour?

I will be copying this e-mail to both the police, the Birmingham Mail, to Aston Villa Football Club and to the Football Authorities.

I await your response to this matter.

Yours faithfully

That's absolutely mental, Brummie.  What a load of scum, was anyone able to get video evidence?  From their mobile or digital camera?

Not seen any as yet.

Villa fan stabbed last night, too. Situation not looking too promising, apparently.

Apparently, after keeping our lot penned in a car park for over an hour to keep the two sets of fans apart, as all sorts of stuff - including concrete - was chucked at them, the police then escorted them about 100 yards then disappeared, leaving them to take their chances.

My brother was shopping in the city centre in the afternoon and said it was mental, like a war zone from their ground, up through the irish quarter and up towards the bull ring. Unpleasant in the extreme.

i hate lindsmen. don't mind refs, they do a decent job, but lindsmen who think "oh gosh, if i get this decision wrong and they score i'll be cunted, but if i get this decision wrong and a goal is chorked off fuck all will happen" boil my piss. i think i'm going to make an effort now to find out who that cunt is.

One of the most blatant attempts to get booked and therefore suspended against shit opposition (Wigan) that I've ever seen by Fabregas! First he pulls the Reading player back by the arm and when the ref somehow doesn't book him for that he is booked for dissent. The commentator claimed that he'd shown immaturity - quite the opposite I reckon!
