If (it likely is) this is a load of old shite then Ashley needs to start legal proceedings against the Mail. Either do them in court or get a full retraction. Said it before and will say it again... Daily Mail, fascist evil rag.
Kimbo
That article is shocking. The thing is millions of non-newcastle fans across the country will lap it up and take it as gospel.
Martin Lol
Sportsmail understands Keegan had little, if any, say in the appointment of Chris Hughton as his assistant this week and one source suggested the former Tottenham coach did not even speak to Keegan prior to accepting the job. Hughton is a liar too then, because that doesn't match up with what he says on World. Funny how everyone seems to be lying except those who need to sell papers, who of course tell the REAL story. Wouldn't worry about it too much tbh, I think there's as much chance of Kemsley recommending Hughton as there is him recommending Jol to replace Keegan. The Mail article would have had a little more credence if they had at least got the names right, it's Kemsley, not Kelmsley. Unless, of course Kelmsley is advising Ashlee, Malt, Wyse and Keagan! Benwell Lad
Sadly, the once precious freedom of press we enjoyed has been reduced to nothing more than a license to print malicious untruths, conjecture and hearsay. Many present day journalists are a disgrace to those who fought for the freedoms they enjoy. It's a shame that there are people prepared to employ these lie mongerers, and a shame too that some people actually pay to read it.

Sadly a lot of toon fans will believe it as well... we aren't above being sucked in by media drivel. Course they will, loads of our supporters are clueless eejits, as with any club. Sometimes it seems we've got more than our fair share, especially if you were watching Sky Sports News when Robson was sacked or when any other Toon-related story 'broke' over the last few years, or even just listening to half the opinions you hear in the stands at the match. Tsunami
Talksport has this afternoon been inviting fans to ring in to say if they want KK to go. The 2 I heard said that everyone wanted him to go & that he was an embarrassment - Talksport loved it. Shit stirring again by the media.
Guest float one in
I've written a harsh comment on that daily mail article but doesn't look like they're going to show it on the website, what a surprise. Might write to the paper instead.
Wullie
How ironic that when they genuinely have reason to have a pop at us, they get it hopelessly wrong: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=522188&in_page_id=1779&ct=5 Proof that we need to sell Smith super sharp while some people in this country still think he has any talent whatsoever. Notice he jumped on the "lets bring down chelsea" bandwagon this week. He often jumps on it when he is bored, has nothing sensible to write about or isn't shoveling food into his fat face. JH
TOON STARS SHAME By Bull Shitter, News of the World. NEWCASTLE United played well against Blackburn yesterday, but only after a round of alcohol binging and hapless killings. The News of the World can reveal that as a Pre-match warmup, the Magpies players downed BOTTLES OF PURE VODKA and drank as many as 3000 SHOTS OF TEQUILA EACH before jumping behind the wheel of a car and running over old ladies who were simply trying to cross the road. This revelation will shock the footballing world and add to Toon boss Kevin Keegan's woes as his team now enter a relegation battle. If that's what it takes for them to play well, and STILL lose, then the North East side is definitely on it's way out of the Premier League. The Geordie club denied to comment, but an insider told us "This is the final straw for Ashley. He's simply had enough" "No wins in 7 games when Keegan has only come up against the likes of Man U and Arsenal is not good enough. Lord knows how he's going to fare against the brilliance of Reading and Fulham. , He'll be lucky to still be in a job by the end of the week He also spoke of Ashley's future at the North East giants. "He wants to sell up. It's as plain as day. He'd settle for 20p and a Dairylea Dunker at the minute. I'm sure it's something that Alan Shearer, the England international star, the fans favourite, the greatest living legend that this town has ever seen, can afford" If Shearer does buy the club, it won't be long until he and 'the Messiah' don't see eye, after their infamous bust-up when Keegan was manager of the Magpies previously, in which he and Shearer disputed over whether to have fish or pork before a match. And how long before the Toon top-goalscorer replaces Liverpool's England's Newcastle's Michael Owen?
