The 27-year-old was given his marching orders by Uriah Rennie after just 29 minutes following a high tackle on Potters skipper John Eustace. That means the former Inter Milan ace will miss Saturday's visit of Bolton Wanderers as well as the FA Cup and league double header with Arsenal on January 26 and 29. But caretaker coach Nigel Pearson feels that an earlier challenge by Eustace on Emre should not have gone unpunished by referee Rennie. "I thought the challenge on Emre was awful, let's be honest," he said. "It was a ridiculous challenge, and you only have to look at Emre's shin to see how bad a challenge it was. "I've seen it a few times on the slow-mo as well, and it's not pretty. "One thing led to another. The first challenge should have been dealt with, and after that it's another player that we lose at a time when we've got a number of players available. "That makes it even more difficult for us, but we'll have to deal with it." Also suspended for Saturday's game with the Trotters are midfield duo Alan Smith and Nicky Butt. Idiot. Dokko
A player that really needs a clean slate, what a tit.

Syrette
A player that really needs a clean slate, what a tit. He's 27, can't really defend players who retaliate like that. No denying it was a terrible challenge that wound him up in the first place but theres no place in football for revenge attacks of that nature. Adam
Don't agree with what he did but if Rennie wasn't so shit and had carded the bloke who crunched emre in thr first place it would of never happened.

midds
Thought it was a sloppy challenge at the time but he deserved the red after seeing the replay in the pub afterwards. Could have done quite a bit of damage.

Caz
Such a shame when he would of had a chance to play
Optimistic Nut
I'm sure Rozehnal in the holding-role with N'Zogbia would be good enough.
Guest The Toon Army from farawa
Can Roznhal play centre midfield? I think he played there before he came to us.
Optimistic Nut
Played there quite a bit for PSG.
tmonkey
Milner played a bit in central midfield for Leeds iirc. Should be able to do a decent job there.
Caz
Might be better seeing him play centre mid holding role, as he is rather scary in defence with his Rio Ferdinand like turns
Nobody
Milner played a bit in central midfield for Leeds iirc. Should be able to do a decent job there. We wouldn't have a RW then
James
Milner played a bit in central midfield for Leeds iirc. Should be able to do a decent job there. We wouldn't have a RW then LuaLua. That would create a terrifying front six of: LuaLua Milner N'Zogbia Duff Owen Viduka though

But Milner and Zog do have good work rates and battling attributes when called upon.
