Baggio
It was when I came over, the people that looked after were massive spurs supporters and I just ended up supporting them too. All worked out well in the end I guess, although sometimes, wish they had been man utd fans or something, would save my embaressment most weekends. So who's your tip to win the cup then? We've got players out there, Martins with Nigeria and Beye and Faye with Senegal, we could do with getting back in a hurry although Geremi won't be missed with Cameroon. Has Geremi been crap then? I was desperate for us to sign him in ths summer. In terms of the competition, it has to be the same old teams to actually win imo, although there could be surprises. Ghana as hosts, Ivory Coast and Nigeria obviously. Egypt, although they arent amazing in West Africa and maybe Cameroon(which apparently you'll be happy to hear) all have an excellent chance of winning. I reckon Angola and Tunisia could cause a few shocks too tbh. But if I was a betting man, I would bet on an Ivory coast Nigeria final. Then, its too close to call. The match tomorrow will be a great indication as to how they measure up against each other. Geremi started off well in pre season but since the season kicked off properly he's been awful, it was made worse by Allardyce making him captain. Bobby Robson done an interview last week and said this about him... Jose Mourinho told me last season that Geremi's legs had effectively gone. "Mister, he plays like a 40-year-old. He can not run any more. He will not play for me in important matches again," was Jose's typically forthright response. Naturally, I was alarmed to read that Newcastle wanted to sign Geremi. I passed on my information to someone at the club (this was before Mike Ashley took over) but Geremi still ended up signing. In fact, Sam made him captain. Looks like we could be stuck with him if other managers read that.

Thespence
Oba is joint favorite along with Momo & Yakubu at 11 to 1 to be the first player to be declared AWOL/absent once their tournament is over.

Yak won't go AWOL. Moyes would give him a serious beatdown.

Guest nufc_geordie
Nice to see Bobby's and Jose's views were listened to by the Fat Controler. No wonder we are in such a state. Anyone know what the situation is with Geremi's dat of birth? Is it Martins like and open for debate or do we actually know ho old he is? Maybe Jose was dead on and he is 40? robbo_11
Despite the goals it is dire to watch. I've never seen such a clumsy game of football. Aye, lots of fouls and just general bad play. Alloudi has looked decent, but its mostly because of the opposition.

The amount of times the wingers get the ball and just whack it up field then bomb after it... it's like watching 7 year olds.
robbo_11
Is Hadji the ex Coventry and Aston Villa player? An clumsy challenge for the penalty and a good penalty by Sektioui. The challenge was similar to Kalabanes yesterday.
