And before anyone says I am turning on Keegan, I blame the team performances on Allardyce. He, and no one else, is the one that destroyed our mid table side and turned it into a bottom three side. Keegan has been given nothing to work with by bringing him in with only 2 weeks of the transfer window left. As an aside thought, if that had been FS doing that sacking in mid transfer window, I would have thought it was a deliberate ploy to avoid spending any transfer funds. His first touch is exceptional, he always wants the ball, and hardly ever gives it away. He keeps things ticking over nicely. I would play him every game. Taylor, Cacapa, Carr, Duff, Butt, Barton, Owen, Smith, Milner all go over so easily, just put a body on them and they fold like a pck of cards. Even the wannabe bad boys Barton and Smith have no strength at all. Softest team in the premiership by far, never ever win any 50-50s. Patheticness personified. Guest Dev Posted February 9, 2008 Share Posted February 9, 2008 People turning on Keegan already. f*** me. tbh I think what Keegan is doing is understandable, if utterly humiliating and infuriating,he's giving this bunch a try out for a few weeks which is fine. Then I spose he'll have a look at some different players to see who he will move on in summer. But many of us said very early in Allardyce's reign that his fundamental inability to grasp tactical basics, and to learn from glaring errors, was a sign that he wasn't good enough. Keegan has made some disturbing errors in this game (Smith!) but as long as he doesn't persist Allardyce style I think he'll turn it around.
