Dokko
The reason Liverpool players rarely get cautioned or sent off is that Gerrard normally officiates their matches. Gerrard does bitch at the ref an awful lot. Though no more than Shearer did tbf... Yeah but at least Shearer was class for England, the influence over refs was deserved. Gerrard has done fuk all for England and probably never will, waste of time protecting him, they should actually be clamping down on him. Do see your point. Was it Liverpool vs Villa where Gerrard and an opposition player ran in to each other accidently, then Gerrard bitched like hell to the ref about losing the ball after running in to that player, won the free kick, then scored from it late on to snatch a win? Was harsh as hell and blatant cheating that won the game. Class free kick though! That would be the game and the incident. Far too often he gets away with murder, the FA should mark his card, they do it to plenty of other players, notice how none of them are big stars at big clubs playing big roles for England. Guest Sniffer
The FA are a joke. Why does Mascherano face no punishment? Your question is answered by your statement. Oh, and because Mascherano plays for one of the FA's beloved "big four" who play by different rules to the rest of us. Hate to say it, but the FA do treat the top four different Gallas-Nani Mascherano-Aliadiere Terry-everyone Adebayor nutting Bendter. If he wasn't banned for violent behaviour then nobody should be. The College Dropout
Totally different situations. Violent conduct and a mistimed tackle. It was a reckless tackle because it was unnecessarily high. The reason Liverpool players rarely get cautioned or sent off is that Gerrard normally officiates their matches. Plus 'Carra' hands on fucking hips and diving with his arms out on block tackles if people are shooting on their goal. How many fucking saves has he made this year??!! Cunt. No more than Rooney did on Saturday either. Ran 40 yards to tell the referee Faye should be booked.
Exiled in Texas
All appeals should automatically have an increase in the ban being the outcome if the ban is upheld. What incentive is there for a team/player to accept a ban and get on with it - None. They all challenge the Ban because they might win, and the worst that happens is tha ban remains. If they risk loosing and getting the ban increased, they they wouldn't automatically just challenge it for the sake of it. If they are so sure that they are right, and the referee was wrong then they will have no worry about risking an increase in the ban. Glad to see Aladiere have his ban increased - if only they had done the same for Dida when he faked a near-fatal assult at Celtic in the CL.

Exiled in Texas
The problem is, the fa just dont want to undermine there refs when it is blatently obvious they are wrong! All Referees miss things, and given access to replays they would increase the % of correct calls even higher. I think that if the FA did review players actions after the games, the referees would be more likely to make more calls on the field knowing that they would get looked at later. Karjala
another joke decision from the FA, aliadiere gets 4 matches for brushing somebodys face after being provoked by a 'big 4' player, while a horrendus tackles rips somebodys foot off, and gets 3 matches. Guest BudBud
Joke, pure joke, you extend a ban but no punishment for instigator..... joke, F.A. need to sort it out. Gerrard is a dirty cnut but the FA dont care....
mozy
Time for common sense from referees instead of trying to follow the rulebook to a maximum. How Aliadiere got a red card is mystifying and the fact that the FA don't change decisions unless the referee admits to being "unsighted" or whatever is even more ridiculous. What he did was a booking at the most. The FA really do suck balls when it comes to reviewing things (e.g. nearly failing to punish thatcher a couple of season's ago)
Shearer9
Remember when he told Clattenburg to send off Hibbert, I think, during the Merseyside derby. I find the fact that referees are willing to listen far more disgraceful than flopping around on the pitch.

Still don't believe it was a horrendous tackle. I would be more concerned with Eduardo's bon estructre that so much damage was done over somethnig so innocuous. There was no stamp, Taylor was actually stationary at the time. I admit the foot was high but it certainly wasn't premeditated, it was clumsy. Eduardo nicked the ball past him and Taylor couldn't pull out. An unfortunate accident that happens in football, in replays in fact the ref goes to show him a yellow and when he realises it's a broken leg shows the red. More a case of poor refereeing for me. robbo_11
Chelsea have appealed against Frank Lampard's red card against West Ham. Personally, I think if they were to follow suit it should be extended as Lampard kicked out and pushed Boa Morte, although Boa Morte also kicked out. However, he'll probably get away with it because its a Chelsea player. It could turn into an interesting debate: Aliadiere gets a 4 game ban for slapping (Chimbonda style) Mascherano after being provoked. Lampard has a chance of it, but won't be decided until 4 March, with imo more contact than Aliadiere.
Guest kingdawson
kuyt at goodison earlier in the season, 2 footed flying tackle into one of the everton players knees. ouch. not even a booking iirc. Think he got a yellow tbh but the ref in that game (clattenburg) was a total joke. Everton would have surely won the game had it not been for the twat ref. Also whilst We're at it, Jamie 'the most over-rated cb in the world' Carragher has got to be one of the most luckiest footballers ever. Countless stone wall pen decisions that should be given against him (for either a handball or a mis-timed challenge) always go in his favour. Twat.
