Seems like Spurs are on a crusade to ensure they nab every player we're linked to this Summer!

A poor mans Chelsea approach, signing all of the players their rivals want so that they can't have them. Might be difficult keeping a good team spirit if all of the players believe they should be playing!

Well, at least the seem to be building a serious challenge to the top 4 rather than talk about it (or it being impossible) like we seem to be doing..

By finishing 11th?

Got him.

I can't understand why they would go for Owen if they fail in their bid for Eto'o. Completely different types of player.

Don't rate Riise.

Never heard of this Turkish lad.

No, by building a squad that´s much better than ours and appointing a top class manager to guide them there.

Ramos won't be there long, he doesn't stay anywhere long.  And didn't they build a top class squad last summer?

Yes, and they fucked it up, which is not to say they will do it again. Player for player, their squad is stronger than ours and they are adding real quality to it. I would say they aren´t to far behind Liverpool in terms of squad strength, whereas we are light years behind, especially as they keep snitching the few top quality players that will consider coming to a ´non top 4 club´ away in front of us.

If we started last season with Keegan we would have been way above Spurs, I doubt Ramos would have made that much difference to them.

In true journalistic style, he's only loosely linked:

BUSH HOLDS KOP KEY

by CHRIS BASCOMBE

AMERICAN President George Bush has emerged as a key figure in Tom Hicks' plans to retain his grip on co-ownership of Liverpool.

Bush is considering buying back shares in the Texas Rangers baseball team he sold to Hicks in 1998 once his term at the White House ends in January.

The Texas Rangers are worth an estimated £200million.

And the sale of some shares in his American sports interests may be enough to cover part of the cost of buying George Gillett's 50 per cent stake in Anfield.

Crumbling

But Hicks' critics claim he is only considering selling part of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars ice hockey team because his empire is crumbling.

The next crucial financial deadline is September, when the club must prove they have the funds to begin construction of the new stadium at Stanley Park.

If Hicks and Gillett cannot provide assurances, Dubai International Capital will finally have the opportunity to buy into Liverpool.

Means nowt. Their squad pisses all over ours as things stand, and their manager isn´t exactly clueless either. They are setting themselves up well for next season, whereas we might well be in for another false dawn the way things are turning out..
