They should be in a much better position if they make it to the CL. The main problem is that construction has stopped on their new stadium, but they got a new loan last month and now qualification for the CL should mean they're in a much better position next year. I hope it means they don't have to sell Silva or Villa.

Atletico/Valencia should be worth a watch tonight, massively important for Valencia to get that final Champions Leaguie spot.

Was a really god game, shame Atheltico won it though.

well as I'm sure it might have been discussed on some other thread.....but Real Betis got relegated on the last day after they drew 1-1 at home allowing Getafe to stay up on goal difference.......supporters rioted and police had to intervene to stop the angry the fans getting into the VIP area , apparently clashes with supporters and police outside the stadium.

Similar to us.......big fan base, 52,000 seater stadium and they have some very canny players on paper....

Sergio Garcia, Ricardo Oliveira (relegated with Real Zaragoza last season), Emana (linked with us before) , Mehmet Aurelio, Capi, Monzon, Nelson,Riccardo, Juanito, Odonkor, Edu etc.

Watching Revista de la Liga and like you said it's unbelievable how similar their situation is to ours. Big fanbase, 52,000 seater stadium, fanatical city, spent big money on overrated s****, they've been ran farcically by their owner, and they even had an inexperienced manager brought in with 10 games to go.

Ruben De La Red ruled out for the whole 2009/2010 season.  :(

Wish him the best, it must be mentally painful to accept this for him, its already against the odds to make it to their first team and then have your career end (well looking likely) by something that no one really understands.

i can't imagine how frustrating that must be for him. hopefully the doctors will find out what is causing the problems and get him on the relevant meds so he can resume his career soon.

would be the perfect sort of time to be doing his coaching badges if he's interested, i'm sure real would have him work with the castilla side.
