Whether or not Keegan knew about the set-up is irrelevant, the fact is that the public have been deliberately misled.

Exactly.

by keegan and the board

Keegan is sticking by his original story.

well did he say he had the final say........then he didn't...which was it ?

he says he was happy to work with wise and jiminez...now it doesn't look like he was ?

wise wasnt giving KK the respect he deserves, and boasting about it, KK is too big for that man.

Seems the other way around to me. Wise and whoever got Keegan some cracking players this summer, and he wasn't happy about it.

Which cracking players?

Umm, Coloccini? Guthrie? Gutierrez? Bassong?

Potential that is all. Lets see if they actually become cracking players for us.

That said, lets not bring them into it. I'm happy with all of them and its not their fault.

Well it shouldn't take long to find out if the clubs statement is true or not.  If it's false then Keegan, backed by the LMA, will quickly issue a contradictory statement and start legal proceedings.

The only real question for me is whether Keegan knew he'd be working under a DoF when he agreed to come back and that should be really easy to prove one way or another as it would have been written into his contract.  And TBH I don't think the club, advised by their lawyers, would issue a clear statement like that if they couldn't back it up.

Well I support the club no matter what. To be honest. You all make me feel sick. Just giving me a reason to start supporting Manure or something.

Clearly it was a mistake to hire Keegan (don´t know what they were thinking) just because the reason that if he should leave the club before the contract expelled this was the situation that always was going to happened.

Hope Ashley hire McClaren or some shit and sell the club to some fucker just to piss of the fans.

Idiot.

now he has left this huge mess behind.

Fuck off and grow up.

I don't agree with what he is saying either but there's no need for that.

Someone on Toontastic says that according to Skunkers, the Times article appeared 11 minutes before the club statement did. Bad-mouthing KK?

What bollocks, you can even see the times the articles were released on newsnow.

Still, anything to make out poor king Kev is the victim.

Question: Do you think their statement contradicts earlier claims by the club?

Where do you think the media have been getting all their inside info from!?!

That's bull Indi, and goes against the rumours that it was Wise doing the leaking for one. Unless of course you can prove KK was doing the leaking rather than suggesting it to suit your own views of this whole mess which is trying to put it on KK's toes from how I'm reading it.

aren't you doing exactly the same from the keegan side.

bearing in mind most of the leaks showed the board in a bad light.

What leaks are we talking about here?

all the stories through the summer about in-fighting and keegan not being happy.

who did they reflect worse on ? keegan or the board ?

Right, ok. Bassong's not started a Premiership game yet and Guthrie was apparently KK's, so I'm not sure we can count them as "cracking" players brought in by the new lot.

The other two, fair enough (so far) but for me, they've not improved the squad enough. On that sort of evidence, I could name you a "cracking player" signed by every other club in the Premiership this summer.

I think a crack recruitment team with no other duties should have more to show than a couple of good players. Any one of us on here could manage that.

once again the club spent nothing in net terms, so maybe keegan really did find it hard to 'spend within the budget'

"there you go son, 0p, don't spend it all at once. and as an extra promise, whatever you bring in i'll let you keep. to get you started, i've put up all your toys on Ebay, i hear Everton are after your playstation <nudge nudge>"

Yep, Keegan would have found it hard because he's been out of football for so long and didn't know the market.

Whoever it was that made the transfers hasn't found it so hard, getting in Jonas, Guthrie, Coloccini, Bassong, Xisco & Gonzalez, for Rozehnal, Milner, Emre, Ramage, etc.

That doesn't mean they were published the same time. I've written two pieces and posted them at the same time on the main site many a time only for one to go on Newsnow hours after one did.

So Wise was going to the press and giving them stories about how much of a wanker Denis Wise is!?!

Chris man you've totally lost it!! Point me to one story that came out in the run up to this that wasn't totally from Keegan's point of view. I won't hold my breath.

As for my views would you like to tell me what my view are?

I was under the impression that I'd stated on a number of times that I think everyone involved is culpable and should shoulder their fair share of the blame, but if you're telling me that my views are something different to that then hey, I guess I must be wrong!

The only thing I'm doing different to most is not deluding myself that Keegan is some kind of fucking God that can do no wrong, sorry for that, but it's simply not true. You carry on though.

has keegan signed a comfidentiality clause ?

and if so why ?

If he has signed a confidentiality clause, then by its own nature, you wont find out you fool.......its confidential.

yes you can find out if someone has signed one.....you can think for yourself as to why.

They've said keegan didn't have a say on transfers but were clearly prepared to let him have his say.

Can't see the problem with that.

Getting in Guthrie, as pointed out, hardly seems like the act of a manager who's actually got his eye on the likes of Lampard, Pelé, Bobby Moore's reanimated corpse and M. Bison from the Streetfighter 2 series.
