We just need a replacement for Butt and our team will be very balanced.

sadly that won't happen.

Joey Barton.

I prefer a Diop / Vieira type player.  Barton isn't that good enough to cover the defense line.  A very all-around player though.

Martins' strike. Fucking hell :yikes: still amazing seeing it again and again.

Hate those. Almost wish he'd balls them right out of the stadium. So agonising having to see it go so close.

Think we may be better off at 0-0 than a 1-0 lead at HT.

You really do come out with some crap.

He's probably right. At 1-0 that would certainly be the end of the forward play.

And you reckon under Kinnear, we'll come out in the second half and take the game to them? We'll try, but inevitably settle for 0-0 without taking any risks.

Probably. :undecided:

One thing I've noticed: our players stop play when they appeal for penalties. Play to the whistle and don't make it seem as if you're guilty of something!

All playing like Duff in hope of playing every game?

After a totally shambolic first 20 minutes, we've come more into it. We're starting to get a bit more space. The midfield looks very jittery the moment they're put under pressure though. Jonas is the only one who looks confident in possession.

Portsmouth look pretty ordinary. Makes you think that Redknapp was a far better manager than many here realised.

Guest timmy boy

That Martins strike reminds of the one at Anfield last year (or was it the year before?). Out of f***ing nowhere and only inches away.

It was last year, also the shot v Chelsea in his first season in the Carling Cup.
