The 16-year-old defender is training with the Magpies all week after they stole a march on a string of other major European clubs on his trail. Roma and Atletico Madrid were said to be keen on Nascimento, but Newcastle jumped the queue by offering a trial to him and Slovakian centre-back Lubomir Korijkov. Like Korijkov, Nascimento is part of the youth system at Slovakian side MFK Kosice. Nascimento – full name, Dionatana do Nascimenta Teixeiru – arrived in Eastern Europe last summer from Brazilian club Londrina. He is not the first Samba starlet to be seen at United’s training ground this season, with Caio Ferreira seemingly all set to complete a move to Newcastle a few months ago. But the 18-year-old striker incurred problems acquiring an EU passport and now looks set to join a club in Greece. United do not anticipate similar problems with Nascimento, and will make a decision over the weekend on whether he is worth a long-term gamble. Korijkov also arrived on Sunday highly recommended, having impressed Newcastle contacts at a recent junior tournament in Croatia. Allen Bula, head of football development at MFK Kosice, said: “Korijkov is an outstanding central defender, especially for his age. “He has clearly made his mark at international level, where lately MFK Kosice has been approached by top European clubs enquiring about him.”

binnsy
The likes of Owen, Beye, Guthrie & Nolan should all be made to play against man utd reserves on Monday, they all need the match practice and sharpness, the only one i would maybe let off is Beye after his 60 mins against Arsenal. Owen needs some game time to get his sharpness back, Guthrie has been out for months and needs some time on the pitch and Nolan looks fat & overweight, he was sluggish against Arsenal and 90 mins chasing someone like Gibson or Welbeck could do him some good. my team would be FORSTER BEYE TAYLOR CACAPA LOUGH LUALUA GUTHRIE NOLAN BAHENG OWEN XISCO
GM
Newcastle eyeing Swindon Town striker Simon Cox Mar 26 2009 by Mark Douglas, Evening Chronicle NEWCASTLE United have had Swindon Town’s highly-rated striker Simon Cox watched – with assistant boss Colin Calderwood seeing him net a hat-trick against Northampton on Tuesday night. Former Cobblers boss Calderwood is the latest top-flight boss to check out Cox, the 21-year-old forward who has scored 27 goals so far this season. His scouting mission is further evidence of United’s desire to recruit up-and-coming Championship players over the summer. They have also looked at Huddersfield’s 19-year-old goalkeeper Alex Smithies, although with Steve Harper and Tim Krul at the club that is not a priority. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/03/26/newcastle-eyeing-swindon-town-striker-simon-cox-72703-23237728/

joeyt
Kosice - No Magpies deal MFK Kosice have told skysports.com that no deal has been agreed with Newcastle United for Brazilian starlet Dionatan Nascimento. The teenage defender has recently been on trial with Newcastle after becoming the latest Kosice player to catch the eye of Premier League clubs. Bolton Wanderers, Middlesbrough and West Brom have also been linked with Nascimento, while Roma and Atletico Madrid are also rumoured to have shown an interest. However, the Slovakian club's head of football development Allen Bula says Nascimento will not be heading out on trial again and that no deals have been struck for a transfer. Well known "I can confirm that no deal has been reached with Newcastle United for the transfer of this player," Bula told skysports.com. "Nascimento will return to MFK Kosice to carry on his development which will see him in our first team very soon. "MFK Kosice is already well known for the talents we produce. Yes, like any other club, we are always open for offers for our players, and we always put a realistic price on them. But for sure we will NOT accept peanuts for our players. "There are quite a lot of clubs nowadays that have lost sight of how to recruit, and look at players as a brand name depending on the league they play in. "Time and time again you see clubs splash out millions for players that come from top leagues, to see them completely fail and then waste their chance when they find a gem because they want to pay peanuts because of the league they come from. "There is much interest in Nascimento, he will not be going on any more trials. Clubs that are interested can come and watch him play for MFK Kosice and then speak to me." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5109069,00.html

Segun Oluwaniyi
I bet they are asking for £2m plus. If they want 2 million british pounds for a player who has no experience anywhere, then she go about our business and move our efforts elsewhere. That's an absolutely ridiculous fee. So Roma and Atletico are interested, and in an FM tastic move they will want a sell on, or inflated fees for when he makes first team debut etc.
