toontownman
(yet another positive thread to cheer everyones spirits on the eve of another week at work) ...which players will leave us should we get relegated and who would stay? Players immediately out: Martins/Owen/Emre/Moore/Parker/N'Zogbia/Milner/Duff/Given/Luque/Babayaro/Carr/Dyer .. although the latter three might not find any buyers. £50m if we are lucky. Stayers: Solano, Bernard, Ramage, Taylor, Harper, Sibbers, Ameobi, Butt, Pattison, Obrien, Bramble (no Choice), We would probably end up with a team looking like this: Harper Ramage Taylor Bramble Bernard Solano Butt Pattison O'Brien Sibbers Ameobi Plus a shed load of cash and a new manager, more than likely Shearer. Here's for praying its all a bad dream though.
Toon_Crazy
Well if we were to have that team, we would probably get ina few players as well on the cheap and a few youngsters would be called up to get a game because they would be good enough for the division. toontownman
I doubt we would offload all of those players either, not immediatley anyways, the problem at the moment is motivating the players we have, as we have alot of talented players, they just arent gelling and performing. And the cancers called Shepherd edited for you... GR aint the "cancer" he is just the cover over for it.. he is doing hte best he can (al be it he aint good enough i no) with what he has got infront of him.. you cannot just blame the manager every time something goes pear shaped.... its the players who kick the ball not the gaffa!!! getting rid of GR wont solve anything (ok maybe short term ... ala honey moon period!) as fatty would just chose some other shite to manage us after that ..... david odeary sort of level! was it roeders fault.... we sacked SBR after finishing 6/7th we replaced him with souness..who was probably close to being sacked by blackburn!!!! sempuki
Last home game against Watford - have to win to stay up. We don't. 0-0 at F-T, Owen kisses the badge (like Alan Smith did) and promises to stay to help us get promoted. He gets peddled for 5m. Sky focuses on grown men crying at SJP. This really could all happen and we need to do something about it while we can. The way I feel at the moment if nothing happens soon I'm going to fly over to Fatty's house and "stone" him to death with frozen pies!
The College Dropout
Sky focuses on grown men crying at SJP. I'd probably be one of them. It's very funny because it happens everytime.
Crumpy Gunt
I think the £50m the original poster thinks will be spare will be gobbled up paying off the players contracts - there value will be minimal, Owen £6/8m max when other Clubs realise we are fucked. And - the transfer fee will be gobbled up making up Owens wage because the new Club will offer him nowhere near the £105k pw we are paying him.So Owen could realistically still take £3/4m of the fee as a makweight. And ditto along the line. IF we drop take the 10 point deduction and start again - bankruptcy!
Dave
I just hope we dont get so bad financially that we have to sell SJP AFAIK, we don't own the land it's on, so who would want to buy it?
OzzieMandias
I just hope we dont get so bad financially that we have to sell SJP ASAIK, we don't own the land it's on, so who would want to buy it? I was just about to point out the same thing. There aren't exactly loads of other sports clubs in the city who need a 52,000-seater stadium.

Maybe Calimag could move it over to America block by concrete block, just like Arizona's London bridge? Would look smashing at the bottom of his garden just past the rockery. blueyes.gif
