I know hes a nice lad and all but has there ever been a player in the history of the world who was clearly not up to the task from an early stage but who has been perceviered with for as long as Shola!!?!??!?!

What is it now?, 8 or 9 years already with 3 more to come??  :kinnear:

We are a joke of a club.

If Colo was dropped from the team for his performance against Chelsea, Shola should be dropped in the Amazon river with a knife in his back and concrete on his feet after his 'showing' today. Who knows, maybe then he'd show some urgency.

“But out of every negative you take a positive. Both Andy and Shola [Ameobi] have given everything and proved a point today."

Farcical comment although the rest of what he said is spot on.

He said it about Shola as an after-thought, and said 'to be fair' and said he was coming back from injury. He knows he was shite.

Why does every manager play Ameobi when he is "coming back from injury"? Ameobi is always injured (another reason why I couldn't believe NUFC gave him a new contract). Surely a fit Carroll or Ranger is a better bet than an unfit Ameobi? It's not as if Ameobi has a history of scoring important goals to justify his inclusion in the starting 11 over any other striker. How shit must Shearer (correctly) think Smith is to start an unfit Ameobi over him?

Give Keegan his dues. He did try to get rid of Ameobi. The deal fell through.

I would be inclined to agree with you on most of that, but Keegan was the only one out of that lot who was trying to get him out of the door and it was only the fact that teams were shocked at the fact we were asking them for money to take him off our hands that he ended up back in our squad when September rolled in.  You can say what you like about Keegan's management, but at least he was able to recognise the fact that Shola is fucking dogshit.

Fair enough, point conceded.  :nods:

Jesus.

Shola didnt do anything, he couldnt control the ball (whats new?) and kept falling over it!

Even the Stoke fans were laughing at him, £4 million for him?

Stoke were crazy to even take him on loan man!

The lad's just shit. He's woefully out of his depth and shouldn't wear the shirt again.

That said, it's not his fault he keeps on getting his contract renewed. He must feel like he's won the fucking lottery every twatting day. :hmm:

Martins' first touch + Owen's injury proneness + Viduka's work ethic + Smith's goalscoring ability = http://www.goal.com/resultsimg/3983.jpg

You know what? We need an Ameobi smiley.

Nothing to smile about really.

We can call it a "frownie" instead.

Shola is shit but he did the best he could with that service in the first half IMO. He was picked to win headers and give their defenders a tough time, and he did that. The balls up to him (well, in his general direction) were absolutely worthless.

However, the introduction or 6'3'' Carroll for the positionally inept Ameob

Needs to join Colo on the timeout step.

No cos Colo will be back, I don't want this usual plonk anywhere near our team, he 's just had too many chances, and ambles around like it was a kick about.

SHOLA AMEOBI FOR HULL

Tigers ready with £2milion bid for Newcastle striker

SHOLA AMEOBI - wanted

By MARTIN HARDY, 11/04/2009

HULL are planning a swoop for Newcastle strike star Shola Ameobi.

Tigers boss Phil Brown will move for the 27-year-old in the summer - regardless of whether his side stay in the Premier League.

Brown wants a powerful forward with top-flight experience and Ameobi will be available for around £2million. Newcastle bosses are ready to offload Ameobi in the close season - despite awarding him a new three-year contract in January.

But Hull face competition from Middlesbrough for the former England Under-21 hitman - providing Gareth Southgate survives as Riverside boss.

Ameobi turned down a move to Stoke last year to fight for his place at Newcastle but he is behind Peter Lovenkrands, Michael Owen and Obafemi Martins in the pecking order. And the Nigeria-born ace will need to be convinced a move to either Hull or Boro will benefit his career.

No he didn't turn down a move we told him piss off and don't come back!

Our chairman said on the radio saying we had no intention of signing him following his performances.

Lucky point for you lot yesterday - we should of had the game buried long before letting you back in the game.  Poor finishing on our part.

In terms of who'll be relegated . . I ain't 100% sure if you lot will go - mainly since I think you will pick up some points in the next 6 games where as I highly doubt Hull will.  Hull are truly in freefall and they have got a truly horrific run in Mackems, L'pool, Villa, Us, Bolton & Manure.  Get yourself 4 or 5 points and I wouldn't be surprised if Hull replace you.

I also think that 'Boro also have a chance to escape the drop due to the Mackems also being so shite!
