TRon
He's absolutely finished as a Premiership footballer. However one thing I will say about him is the fact that he doesn't hide, he tries to take responsibility and due to his character shoulders the burden of responsibility from his fellow midfielders who have no bottle and shouldn't be trying to take the game to the opposition. People like Nolan who hide, which means Butt is still trying to do things that his body simply won't allow. Valid point. The fact we rely on someone who's a decade past his prime is why we are where we are but I will give him credit for showing up week after week unlike many of his team mates. He is unbelievably shit though.
Robster
I am embarassed when I think of players like Nicky Butt and Michael Owen. These are big name players as far as english football goes and we will probably hear their names mentioned for a few years after they finish playing (especially Owen). It makes me go cold to think of what they may say to people and the detrimental things they will be saying about our club.
Ronaldo
Butt is living off the back of his Manchester United days, yet he was never even a guarenteed started for them, he was one of Fergie's squad fillers who could come in and do a job in the holding role. Yet the media talk about him like a Giggs or Scholes, he was never anything close to their calibre. He's been awful all season for us, no engine, non-existant athleticism, horrific passing, mis-timed tackling that's cost us a stupid number of points Absolute disgrace to the shirt, and as I've said before, if he's a nailed-on starter next season i'll sell my season ticket

And for the term "squad filler" I'd rate him in his prime higher than the "squad fillers" now such as Fletcher.

Guest firetotheworks
Calling Butt a disgrace to the shirt is going way too far tbh. You can only get to that level if you're shit and you make no effort/dont care imo. Despite Butt being shit, its obvious he makes the effort, and gives a shit. binnsy
Think some of the stick that Butt gets are this forum is way over the top and isn't as bad as some make out, problem i see is that as we have such as poor midfield Butt is trying to do too much, ideally he should be there sitting in front of the back 4, breaking up play and giving it too players who can do something with the ball....therein lies the problem as our team as ZERO creativity and as a result Butt gets it and looks poor when trying passes that the likes of Hoddle in his prime would struggle to pull off. Although he used Veron completely wrongly anyways.
Cronky
Good at getting the ball, crap at using it. For that reason, extremely irritating.
thedudeabides
If he was a horse, they would have shot him by now, a truly awful player. To his credit, he doesn't hide on the pitch, like the majority of the gutless cowards.
Dinho lad
should never have been brought back from birmingham. So he did well for them....so what? Dont understand why he doesnt go for headers anymore. Wants to keep the rest of his hair, obviously. He should just forget about it....it's ginger ffs!

Was worth bringing him back from Birmingham, if only for the goal he scored that won the game in the 3-2 against Spurs.

He may be worthless but I don't get the hatred? He's getting picked because we haven't got any replacements, don't see why he'd quit/retire like some have said. Plus, he's a professional and seems to like the club. I always thought players who try their best should be forgiven if they aren't good enough, can't see how you'd argue against that. Because he's a fuckin twat as well? He thinks he can spray 50 yard passes when everyone knows he doesn't have the ability. He gives away fuckin ludicrious penalties and free kicks. He talks absolute crap to the Chronicle every week. He's signed on for another year when if he had any respect for the club he would have retired as he must know he's completely finished. The guy is a completely useless twat trading on 'experience' when in reality the only experience he has is the armchair ride afforded him by Keane and Scholes. I'd be amazed if you found a more technically limited player in the league.

Zero
While he looks decent when we defend, it's his inability to control the possession that force us to defend. Get rid, he is shit. Guthrie and Nolan, and may be a new energetic CM for next season. Butt is just too shit.
