Mistle17
For f*** sake man, just sell for £70m! He's gonna get £100m back anyway due to the debt-loan he gave us... I don't think we should sell for £70m either. Its about status and pride as much as anything. If Ronaldo is worth more than our whole club than what does it say? One player for god sake. That's why Ashley holding out for the 100 is important for the club IMO. Guard has slipped So if we sell for 70 mill tomorrow, you'd be happy to know one footballer is worth more than our football club? Personally i'd hate to think that. For f*** sake man, why do you care? Sunderland sold to Quinn for £10m! Do you think any of them care now? Peterborough United were bought for £1. Do you think their supports give a s*** now? So basically you'd rather pass up the chance to get this club back on its feet all because of the daddy's of the exclusive football monopoly league spend crazy money on one player? I doubt you'll be saying that when we're languishing in League 1.....or have no Newcastle United left. There will always be a Newcastle United. Always a Newcastle, yes, but not always a Newcastle United.

Liam Liam Liam O
So if we sell for 70 mill tomorrow, you'd be happy to know one footballer is worth more than our football club? Personally i'd hate to think that. I'd be delighted. In fact I'd be so delighted that I'd strip down, wax my body bare, smother the words "Ronaldo is worth more than Newcastle United" in baked beans, and run the length of the country while singing Scooch - Flying the Flag over and over again. Quoted just in case.

Guest Pedro_de_geordieo
Maybe its just me but i'd see it as a kick in the face. Like Ken Bates buying Chelsea for £1. A steal, a piss take. Don't get me wrong, if Bill Gates or Moat took over and then invested in the team then fair enough but this club will be a steal for someone at £100m, 70 is taking the piss. Are you in some sort of delayed shock or something? the day we were relegated the club's worth depreciated way down. Right now we should hope that we are sold for any price and quick. I think some people don't see tha urgency we are in now!!!! WE MUST SELL NOW!!!

captainhaircut
Jesus, is the man for real? When the Mackems were bought in 2006 it was for just less than 10m. The same summer we signed Albert Luque for 10m How the Mackems must cry about this every night as they laugh their fuckin tits off at us. The price of the club is irrelevant. Mike Ashley paying someone to take the club off his hands couldn't make us more of a laughing stock than we are right now.

Interpolic
And in theory, the best case scenario would be the club getting sold for 1p to a rich buyer with good intentions who's willing to take on the debt, the losses, the wages, and all the other shite that's connected with NUFC. Any sale for big money just benefits Mike Ashley. God, the idea that we should not be sold for less than £100m just to keep up appearances, I give up. Joe Dynamite
Ronaldo is probably the best player in the world atm and we are a club in freefall, off course our value will drop. No other Championship club would lose sleep over being valued less than Ronaldo.
Guest Thomo
Newcastle fighting to meet owner's deadline 10 Aug, 09 | England | Clubs ownership & management Tags: newcastle-united | Font size: Mike Ashley, English Newcastle owner, is inching closer to a deal, as Barry Moat works to finalise the necessary details. According to The Times, Seymour Pierce has been in contact with several private-equity investors, who have all expressed interest in purchasing the club. With the value of Newcastle United now set between GBP 70 million and GBP 90 million, the door remains open to new buyers. However, in an attempt to unload the club as soon as possible, Ashley is now willing to help fund a takeover. Ashley had declared this weekend as the deadline to sell the club, possibly as a way to urge prospective buyers to take the next step. The latest reports reveal that Seymour Pierce Chairman Keith Harris is involved in discussions with Moat and his counterparts, after the group came forward yesterday. Not only will the new owner be forced to contend with the start of a relegated season, but also the lack of a permanent manager. Fortunately for the club, Moat is believed to support Alan Shearer as a long-term candidate. Ashley is believed to be feeling the pressure of the upcoming season, well-aware that the next owner will be working under the gun to prepare the club for the Coca-Cola Championship. Despite the fact that Ashley’s intentions have been repeatedly questioned by fans, he remains hesitant about selling the club to any buyer who cannot afford to invest in new players. Guest Vincent V
THOMMO is talking shite and has provided no evidence at all that he has even a source at the club nevermind the source being ITK.
Guest Thomo
How the hell can I prove I have a ITK you idiot, how can anyone prove they have an ITK, I know some people dont believe me but I think some do and people are just going to have to trust me that I know someone at the club and Iam told information. The problem with anything at the moment with the club is it honestly changes every day. Nobody really knows which way Ashley is going to turn. All I know which is concrete is , that they are speaking to two consortiums, UAE and USA (with Moat)
themanupstairs
There is very clearly a big chance we will be relegated again, we haven't yet seen the end of the cock-ups from "he who can't possibly be worse than fat fred," have we? If the cockney wide-boy suddenly changes his spots, grows some balls, learns a bit about football and starts to do things properly, there is a chance we can be promoted, though that's a long-shot, obviously. Any prediction is going to look more sensible if it's closer to relegation than promotion, that's the reality of the situation the club is in. Whether that's because Ashley wants to run the club down as some sort of tax write-off against his cheap shops, or whether he is the most inept person ever to own a football club doesn't matter that much, in either of those scenario's the club is pretty much doomed to failure. There's going to be plenty for the morons to boo about this coming season. I'm hoping these hangers-on ('cos that's all they are) decide to piss off and "support" another club.
