TRon
The results so far could turn out the be the worst start to the season we could have had, if it's given Ashley an inflated idea of our chances of promotion and therefore an inflated idea of what the club's worth. Maybe if we were currently lying at the bottom of the table he would accept even a lower offer to sell. Theres no offers though. So whats he going to do? bring in a partner or keep the club. Take aside all the published bullshit offers and theres no concrete offers on the table, despite thommo and the rest of the done deal briggade. From what weve seen it likely to be Moat-Ashley partnership hence the handshake bullshit at the matches. How do you know there are no concrete offers? Is that a fact? thats a fact until proven otherwise... It's your opinion until proven otherwise.

Guest VegasToon
Hopefully at the minimum, Moat buys a part and becomes the managing partner.

DJ_NUFC
This is increasingly becoming a faith-based thread, with believers and non-believers, with the former looking more and more like relgious zealots in their "done deal last friday" bollocks without a shred of evidence. *Yawn* Nothing to see here. DJ_NUFC
WTF would NUSC have to tell us? Aside from their opinion. Which is gonna be ignored by Ashley & Co. anyways?
mattynufc
WTF would NUSC have to tell us? Aside from their opinion. Which is gonna be ignored by Ashley & Co. anyways? Last time we were for sale NUSC were planning a take over of the club via a fans consortium, or at least part of NUSC were. Thats what I thought anyways. DJ_NUFC
I thought our NUSC sources confirmed a fans' takeover is wholly improbable, and something maybe to look into in the future, but not right now. As CNN's new line goes: "Just sayin'..."
bowlingcrofty
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/aug/21/newcastle-takeover-mike-ashley-barry-moat Reckons we need to flog three more players before Barclays will approve the deal. More bollocks, inevitably.
Dave
Although Newcastle today (FRI) said they would be making an announcement regarding the club's future ownership on Monday it is understood this may not be definitive and that Moat probably has until the end of next week to try to close a deal. If we sold 3 more senior players we would have next to no chance of coming straight back up. Especially if the new owner was too poor to buy any replacements.
