GG
The target should be automatic promotion which is probably 75+. So much is still in the balance though we won't know how accurate or achievable that is until we know what's what. 75 would be 6th place in a relatively high season. 80
86 points is less than an average of 2 points per game, we should certainly be aiming for this. What I worry about regarding point accumulation is the big-game factor. Every time we play away next season it'll likely be the opposition team's biggest game of the season, players will sweat blood to make an impact against us and fans will go wild. Which is why we need to get rid of the past-it mob who quite frankly dont stand a chance against young, hungry players breaking their bollocks to make an impact against us I agree - every away game will be a bloody Cup Tie An opportunity to learn, then! Guest toonlass
We have to aim high. I would hope for a points total over 80 if I am honest.
Spider Jerusalem
52. I am that fed up at the minute I would be happy just to avoid consecutive relegations. Agree. Thirded with the Robster lobster - we are a complete fucking shambles at the minute. No manager, no real owner, a squad to overhaul and the time to do it in is quickly diminishing. If we can get this sorted within the next couple of weeks as rumoured, then we can look at the top half, if not the RELEGATIONOMETER thread has a good chance to be a page one fixture again next season. Rob W
86 points from 46 games is doable - but we really HAVE to win all our home games to be in with a chance IMHO and who the hell will score any goals??? Maybe Ameobi will prove us all right when we said he'd be a great star in the championship..............

Ronaldo
I reckon to be safe we need 55 pts. We shouldn't be thinking that way at all
Guest Magpiecn
I'll hate to see another relegation again. But every thing happens now seems newcastle will be lucky to stay in the championship next season.
NG32
I reckon to be safe we need 55 pts. We shouldn't be thinking that way at all We shouldn't be in this division but we are due to the owner and he seems hell bent on repeating everything he did last season again. God knows where we will end up.

Rebellious
Over the last 10 years the number of points required for automatic promotion (I couldn't face the idea of play-offs ) has varied from 79 to 92; in eight of the years 86+ has been required IF we can win every home came that gives us 69 points - so thats another 17 points from 23 games (=pretty much our form home & away this year TBH) That looks like a hell of a target.................... :dave: The standard of the opposition will be less this year you know? We have drawn or lost against the teams coming up from the CC for the past few years.
Decky
55 to be safe is fucking scary. I cant wait until the season starts till I see just how much of a step down this league is as its strange thinking about us getting 55 points in a season never mind 86 or 90. Guest Stephen927
Ask me again just before the first match kicks off. Right now, I'd be happy with enough points just to keep us in that division, how depressing.
