mrmojorisin75
I`m really tired and not up for a Juve versus Inter discussion, it's been so many times at so many occasions really wasn't juve vs inter more that inter had been rising and when the scandal broke they picked the bones of juve and bought what they needed to take the title right? sure there's nuances to it but once juve and milan fell apart and moratti kept splashing the cash a period of dominance was inevitable, as has been the dominance of inter before that nothing controversial there
LooneyToonArmy
oh dear Inter.... You can only 1 more Argie/Brazilian now per season........I guess many are on EU passports though anyway so maybe not too much difference Italian clubs will only be allowed to buy one non-European Union player in the coming season after the soccer federation voted to change the rules following the Azzurri's World Cup flop. FIGC curbs number of foreigners The Italian Football Federation have reduced the number of non-EU players Italian clubs can register each season from two to one, sparking outcry. The move comes on the back of Italy's poor showing at the World Cup in South Africa and seeks to prioritise the development of homegrown players. However, the Lega Calcio - the body that protects the interests of those clubs in Serie A - hasn't welcomed the news. “The Lega doesn't want to reduce the number from two to one,” Sergio Campana, the President of the Italian Footballers Association, said. “We need to start a policy that limits the foreigners and values the academies. The reduction from two to one has been passed by the Federal Counsel even though the Lega wasn't agreed.” Lazio President Claudio Lotito is one of the first to condemn the ruling. The Biancocelesti had deals lined up to sign two non-EU players this summer and will now have to shelve them, hindering their pre-season. “This decision penalises some Serie A clubs who had table bids that now cannot be concluded,” Lotito said. “Perhaps it was better to postpone the decision until the next transfer window [in January]. “This solution will not resolve all of Italian football's problems, but now is not the moment to make trials.” However, this Canadian guy's post made me laugh a little: If it's against EU labour laws, then they should change those laws, or at least make an exception for football. When Inter, a so-called Italian club, can win the Champions League without using a single domestic player in the final, then there's a problem. Inter Milan was set up by 'Foreigners' for Foreigners(as were most of the early Italian Clubs).

ponsaelius
Coutinho has already taken this season's spot up I think. Masch and Filipe who have both been linked have EU passports so they are still possibilities. It actually changes very little tbh.
ponsaelius
Lucas is nowhere near as bad as people make out, but you're right it would be a pointless signing. A player in a position that is not really needed and doesn't improve what is aready there. Pretty sure he doesn't have an EU passport anyway though, so It'd be out of bounds. Guest Heneage
Genuinely think he'd thrive in a slower league. Just depending on the fee.

Lagerstedt
Why would they go €1m over when, theoretically, €1 would be suffice?
ponsaelius
The thing is Balotelli is actually a genuine wonderkid talent. I can't see him ever fulfilling his potential in Italian football, he needs somebody to screw his head on in the morning.
ponsaelius
He needs to get his demons straight before he can be anything imo Yep, the kid has some problems undoubtedly. Shame to let such a huge talent go IMO, even he is serious trouble (and is a Milan fan).
mrmojorisin75
Why would they go €1m over when, theoretically, €1 would be suffice? because then his club wouldn't care and would accept both bids for the sake of a Euro...for a million they'd be exclusive and only accept one could believe the story if the teams were the other way round btw, not this way

Guest ItalianMagpie
City already look like Harlem Globetrotters, Balotelli would be the icing on the cake IF he has one chance to be a real footballer he needs a manager like Ferguson and a real club like United to take it.
