this would be quite the turn around

They are desperate for him to shut up, so much so that SunSport understands the Toon are considering offering an olive branch to the 28-year-old Scouser.

Ashley and chairman Derek Llambias are ready to sit down with him in a bid to get him to stay after all.

Stoke City and Celtic.

Ha! Sounds about right.

Will end up in Scotland.

I was dying of laughter when I heard McKay talking about Champions League clubs being interested yesterday. How he was being "inundated with interest". He's a disruptive player nearing thirty who has performed acceptably in 25% of his seasons and clearly wants high wages.

They want him to stay now? How class

The only thing is, it would make them look even worse and show Barton he has 'won', so can't see it happening.

Would pay to see it though. What a fucking story

Having read it, I can actually see it being true like. Mental

“Joey’s attitude ahead of the Leeds friendly could have been much better and the club have been frustrated and bewildered by his use of Twitter to showcase his feelings.

“But what was said yesterday puts matters in a little different light and everyone knows what a fine player he can be. It may be in everyone’s best interest to find a way out of the corner that we’ve painted ourselves in.”
