Dave
sounds like Joey will stay to me. Not so sure. He might have said he wanted to stay beforehand but he doesn't strike me as the kind of person who will accept this treatment and/or back down from his original sentiment. If he decides now that he wants to go (depending on the interest from other clubs) then many will turn on Barton and the club will believe they have played this perfectly. We'd just have to hope that a replacement was coming in, though the Barnetta thing doesn't sound too promising.
Hanshithispantz
Childish as f*** that he's training with the reserves like. Pardew needs to get a set of bollocks. How is that childish? Ignoring the fact that he's been having this contract dispute which is probably the clubs own fault.... do you not think it's right that they should punish him for his petulant little outbursts? Plus while he isnt 100% focused its not fair on whats left of the first team to have him around them. Yeah I suppose, I still think Barton is the kind of guy who would just get on with it though. Dave
CaulkinTheTimes George Caulkin After all that, Alan Pardew has spoken to telly, radio etc about Barton. Don't quite understand all that. Papers waiting for him now. #nufc Maybe he'll be summoned to London for a bollocking.

Its a clever idea, the 'No Barton talk' followed by only talking about him has completely overshadowed the Barnetta farce and anything else awkward he would have faced. No press asking about money/transfers is easier for Pardew

Dave
Whilst I hope we patch things up with Barton and he stays, I don't think either he or the club will come out of it well. If the club decide they don't want to release him, it makes their original decision look just as hot-headed, rash and irrational as they imply his tweets were.
