Could this be the end of player made scandals at newcastle?

Thank god we have owners that can keep up the drama!

A period of calm would nice like.

If we have the transfers we need (atleast the striker and leftback) before the end of the transfer window, it for once could be quiet up here ... :)

No more people with real opinions (or the ones who're stating them out in the public) left so, yeah, could be over.

If Ashley was clever, which is obviously isn't when it come to us, he would sign them two, then chuck a surprise in there, wont happen i know but if he had a little common sense.

We would become the prozac nation for a while if he did.

Probably not enough time left in the window for Ashley/Llambias/Pardew to piss on the faces of Tiote/Jonas/Colo.

So, nothing until January probably. :) Hope we get some points between now and then.

Not bothered.  He joined QPR FFS.  It was always about the money and contract.  He doesn't care about winning trophies and playing in Europe.  He could have joined Stoke to play in Europe.

What happened to him staying despite the club wanting him out? Only moving to a top four club? Disappointed in him.

This might mean the wages freed up will go towards another signing.

We've scraped through our first three games and have momentum building which is great as a team. Yet, when we lose one or two on the trot, I fear we have anyone with enough character, charisma and experience to turn negative heads. We deserved fuck all last night and the mackem game could so easily have been a different story. Nevertheless, we'll beat Fulham and then all will be forgotten...at least until we sign no-one else in the remainder of the transfer window and we lose the first game after it closes.

Like virtually everyone else who leaves here though, be it Carroll, Nolan, Enrique, or Andy Cole, Barton opted to walk away when the opportunity to stay was still there. For all the badge-kissing and alleged affection for us, he's gone at the drop of a hat to an inferior club who oddly seemed to be missing from yesterday's Champions League draw...

Thing is if they keep producing on the pitch and we don't get ridiculous bids they will get new deals. The thing we clearly aren't doing is offering silly money, long contracts to players coming to the end of their career.

Erm what? He was told to leave Newcastle by the man in charge (hint not Alan Pardew) and had to choose a club from those that were interested.

How can this be so hard for people to grasp?

Nufc.com talks such bollocks sometimes.

Appreciate it's only ever said it reflects the opinions of the lads who run it, but such a shame it will still be perceived as flagship opinion of the majority of Newcastle fans.

Enrique? Carroll?

Will say it again, we're the only party negatively affected by this move. Joey has his contract, QPR have a good PL player, we're left with a weaker squad.

See people continue to pleasure themselves over the fact he has moved to a "lesser" team while failing to comprehend the state we're currently in.

Why was there so little interest though? Even just taking his on-field performances into account, I don't thing he's good enough for a top club or worthy of 75k p/w.

Misrepresentation in the meedia probably. He's a trobled sort but not the devil incarnate that the press make out. That seems to be the image a lot of the footballing fraternity buy into though.

If I hear "the opportunity to stay was there for him" once more im gonna cry

Try and imagine yourself in a situation where your employers want to get rid of you.

He claims to be fairly strong minded, the managers and the fans wanted him to stay, he clearly had a choice.

The owner and Director he would have barely spoken to so I can't see how them not liking him would have made much effect on him.

Have to say, I dont see much to disagree with, that they've written about Barton's time here, and departure.

Im sure you realise that what Pardew wants is pretty irrelevant at this football club.
