Like most, I'm opposed to any 'rebranding' of SJP. However, it's clear that we need the money and Ashley is not dip into his own pocket. So, how can we get more money into the club for running costs and (if we're lucky) new signings?

Invest money into the first team.

Gordon Brown?

"The only way to get money is to....er...spend it."

Well no really, we are in the lower division.  Spending money on our first team would go along way to helping the club achieve promotion to the top division.  Where, sponsor money is better, TV money is better, crowds would improve and you can charge more on the turnstyle.

Simples really.

Pork pie doesn't undertsand this concept.

He thinks you can keep cutting costs and still either survive a relegation battle or gain promotion with a team of burnt out over the hill professionals.

Improve the scouting network to actually find some good players at decent prices. Seems we're the only club that never finds any players without forking out millions.

Is this the scouting network Ashley was supposed to be setting up 2 years ago ?

Is the correct answer, people seem obsessed with spending huge amounts on this forum when clubs have come up and bought well through scouting rather than splashing cash. Cue abuse....

Get rid of some of the high earners, and bring in cheaper replacements. It's the only way to steady the books, but of course it'll mean being in this division for the foreseeable future.

nah, there are many replacements we could get in this division, or some in the premiership who would command a lot less wages, and give a fuck most of the time

I think he should follow the business model of one of the bigger, more profitable clubs... lets say for arguments sake, Arsenal.

easier said than done wouldn't you agree ?...then again arsenal tend to live within their means.

of course. It was rather tongue in cheek but its didnt take Wenger long to create what he wanted. Arsenal planned, sought out and chose the manager that they wanted and it paid dividends.

(although i genuinely believe that it wouldnt be so easy to do that at a club that isnt based in London)
