Punk77
Horrendous marking on two occasions. Could easily have cost us a goal. If you disregard Raylor's poor back pass, he managed better. Had two crucial interceptions. And his passing is considerably better than Simpson.

You can't disregard the pass from Taylor which ended up with the ball in our net then have a go at Simpson for two things which didn't end up as goals against. GuyP
Thought he looked good going forward...his crossing was very good also. Denfesively i thought he wasnt as bad as he has been int he past, but ofcourse he wasnt tested today...

The back pass was stupid, but still there was a lot of work to do for Blackburn. So Raylor INDIRECTLY caused a goal. But Simpson's marking was shit. Olsson had two great chances because of him, and if he succeeded, Simpson would have been the direct cause.
Foluwashola
Can't fault him too much today. Was incredibly annoyed with his marking when one of their players somehow managed to scoop the ball over from about 5yds out though.

Taylor was the direct cause of Blackburn scoring, we were moving forwards as a team and all of a sudden Taylor played the ball backwards and straight to a Blackburn player. 3 more touches and the ball was being picked out of our net. I agree that Raylor made a school boy error. But still, the marking Simpson performed on two occasions, will more often than not result in a goal. That could not be said about Raylor's mistake .As I said, Blackburn had still a lot of work to do when they snapped the ball.

Would have been two touches and a throw in if Simpson joined in that revolutionary idea of a fullback wanting to block a cross.
TheGuv
The amount of backing off he did for their cross that led to the goal was so annoying.
Guest BooBoo
Always seems that we need a whipping boy and Simpson's the latest. He's not top drawer, but the criticism he gets is OTT.
Ronaldo
He isn't learning from his mistakes. If it was simply a case of being slow or whatever it'd be understandable. It makes him look pretty aloof, and I suspect that's why he gets a lot of the criticism.
RupertCommunicator
He wasn't too bad yesterday. He seems to have something about him going forward and if he can bring on his defensive play, he could still prove to be a very good RB. And the criticism he gets is OTT, but it's the same knobsacks saying the same tired crap without even watching the matches.

I've been knocking him a long time as I've never rated him. The reason a lot of people are now joining in is that he has contributed to nearly every goal we have conceded this season. When he cuts that out he might come in for less flack again.
buzza
But with the pace he has he should be getting forward much more than he does. And why the hell does he back off so much, he can easily recover the ground if they do try a pus n' run past him.... He really does frustrate me! Yeah, all those knobsacks that collectively imagined him miscontrolling the ball and losing his man time after time yesterday.

And why the hell does he back off so much, he can easily recover the ground if they do try a pus n' run past him.... He really does frustrate me! His pace is average, despite what the tools on the TV say. He backs off chiefly because he rarely wins the ball with men running at him. He isn't Enrique, even on Jose's very worst day. buzza
A season ago he deffo looked like he had pace. I would even go as far as tom suggest that we try Perch out again (ooops!)... LOL

People have been saying it since we signed him though, so I wouldn't say he's the latest whipping boy.
Guest Dontooner
Constantly find my self going against the grain recently.... Thought Simpson is a better player with Obertan attack wise.. Obertan is laying him not only alot of balls and vast space for crosses... Simpson's crosses are decent...but he got to start aiming or whipping them in at pace... Defensive wise....he is still a big suspect...shit on his days.... but the partnership seem to be growing on me.
Colocho
Not good enough. Move Santon to RB, sign a quality LB.
wormy
I like the guy, he's simply not good enough, it's that simple, squad player yes. Think this is the crux of it. He's not on a level with the vast majority of our starting XI. The fact the rest of the team has started coming together is going to put the spotlight on his mediocre performances. As many have said, he's our weak link. One to improve on, the first chance we get to sign another good full back. But, compared to some of our other weak links, at least this is one we can live with and, overall, is at least still good enough for a squad role. This is someone that didn't watch Saturday's match, so can't comment on this weekend's performance.
Cronky
He's not very skilful on the ball, so I can accept that in attack, his contribution is going to be erratic. However, he's strong enough and quick enough to do a decent enough job in defence. Not fantastic, but decent enough. The trouble is, he's so scared of making a mistake and getting beaten that he leaves the attacker too much room. He's lacking courage - not in the physical sense, but mental. He could do better.
