Danny Simpson (now retired)

Horrendous marking on two occasions. Could easily have cost us a goal. If you disregard Raylor's poor back pass, he managed better. Had two crucial interceptions. And his passing is considerably better than Simpson.

You can't disregard the pass from Taylor which ended up with the ball in our net then have a go at Simpson for two things which didn't end up as goals against.

The back pass was stupid, but still there was a lot of work to do for Blackburn. So Raylor INDIRECTLY caused a goal. But Simpson's marking was shit. Olsson had two great chances because of him, and if he  succeeded, Simpson would have been the direct cause.

Taylor was the direct cause of Blackburn scoring, we were moving forwards as a team and all of a sudden Taylor played the ball backwards and straight to a Blackburn player.  3 more touches and the ball was being picked out of our net.

I agree that Raylor made a school boy error. But still, the marking Simpson performed on two occasions, will more often than not result in a goal. That could not be said about Raylor's mistake .As I said, Blackburn had still a lot of work to do when they snapped the ball.

Would have been two touches and a throw in if Simpson joined in that revolutionary idea of a fullback wanting to block a cross.

Always seems that we need a whipping boy and Simpson's the latest.

He's not top drawer, but the criticism he gets is OTT.

I've been knocking him a long time as I've never rated him. The reason a lot of people are now joining in is that he has contributed to nearly every goal we have conceded this season. When he cuts that out he might come in for less flack again.

But with the pace he has he should be getting forward much more than he does. And why the hell does he back off so much, he can easily recover the ground if they do try a pus n' run past him....

He really does frustrate me!

He wasn't too bad yesterday.  He seems to have something about him going forward and if he can bring on his defensive play, he could still prove to be a very good RB.

And the criticism he gets is OTT, but it's the same knobsacks saying the same tired crap without even watching the matches.

Yeah, all those knobsacks that collectively imagined him miscontrolling the ball and losing his man time after time yesterday.

His pace is average, despite what the tools on the TV say. He backs off chiefly because he rarely wins the ball with men running at him. He isn't Enrique, even on Jose's very worst day.
