TRon
Fair play he played well today. Out of the games I've seen him play in this was the most impressed I've been. He still has the touch of a rapist. Let's go for someone with a nice touch who's slow as fuck instead.

Jayson
As a Beckford skeptic I'll admit was impressed by him today. He tore Brown a new arsehole for large parts of the match and while his touch was poor he seemed to be able to use his mental and physical speed to make sure it wasn't much of an issue. On the whole though I'm still not sure about him as he was sure to up his game for today. I don't think it's going to make much of a difference to our prospects of getting him really because I can see Bates being a c*** about it and Ashley turning his nose up at the asking price. Thats a good thing though also. It shows he CAN up his game if he wants to, thats all he needs if hes going to be playing in a higher league. Id love us to get him in, i hope if we do we can provide for him.
David Icke - Son of God
Beckford was great today but i was also impressed by Leeds' freekick taker. We need a dead ball specialist and R.Taylor isnt just up to the level. Are you taking the piss?
Guest zeta87
Was it only me or are Leeds midfield better than ours? they know how to pass. Ours? they are clueless...
Guest Geordiekev
Beckford's a decent lad but he'll be hated if he comes here because of his style of play. Never in a million years a premiership player btw. Anyone who says otherwise either knows nowt about football or has never seen him play.

I was thinking more in terms of Boyd...a slow clumsy twat who will fit in nicely with Butt, Nolan and Taylor. We don't need rapist touch footballers here. Was OK back then too.
eddco
Only goalscorer and Man Of the Match whilst beating ManU at home to knock them out the cup in the first round. I think we can safely add another £3m to his price tag now! Steve Bruce will be straight in there with a silly £££ bid thinking he's the next DJ Campbell! Tooj
Those who watched him today and thought he did well are wrong, and those who say otherwise either know nowt about football or has never seen him play. You were the one who called me up on making a similar statement about Owen, something along the lines of "If you think Owen's going to the World Cup, you're simply wrong". Hypocrite much? He's taking the piss out of Ronaldo you nugget.

Pilko
They might well play hard-ball with the price but there's only so much they can ask for before even Bates knows he's being stupid, he's out of contract in the summer.
TRon
Just have to hope no one else steps in during the window, we probably don't need him this season and we can get him at the end of the season if we don't do a deal in January.

Guest Stephen927
There will now be several teams interested in his signature, the price will jump up to about £3m imo, bearing in mind his contract situation.
Cajun
This will test Skirge's ITK at least, if a deal had already been agreed he will be here early next week but if not then todays performance is going to give Leeds a bit more haggling power. If teams are desperate around deadline day, I can see Beckford costing a lot. The teams potentially interested in him (lower Prem teams) won't pay a fuckload for someone because he did well in one game, and if Leeds want money for Beckford, they'll have to stay within reason and not kneejerk their asking price because Beckford scored at Old Trafford. I say they'll either keep him out hhis contract, or sell for a £1.5-2.5 Million.

Dokko
They might well play hard-ball with the price but there's only so much they can ask for before even Bates knows he's being stupid, he's out of contract in the summer. That's it like, he's (Bates) got a month of negotiation before everyone bails out and prepares their bids for the summer instead. Wouldn't go past £2m for him, even that is a massive fee for someone out of contract in the summer, sure we'd had happily taken that for Owen this time last season. Really NUFC need to try and wrap this up early if we really are interested and get it below the £2m mark, if not let someone else take the gamble. Keefaz
Bet the price goes up, we refuse, and he goes to the mackems in the summer. Darren Bent goes to Man Utd and breaks a hip on their pre-season tour of Qatar.
