Joey Barton blasts players' lifestyle

hes just prolly bitter that he has the ugliest bird of all footballers. also pretty lol that he's rumored to be on 60k+/w, either injured or s****, and a massive dick who beats up kids, he should just shut the f*** up.

Didn't realise he went that far...ciggie in the face is one thing but... :yikes:

Love the "Holier than thou" attitude bandied about in this thread. We all know that Joey Barton has been a t***, in the past, but he is really trying hard to sort his life out now. Credit to the lad for that, and he is right, most premiership footballers are motivated by money and the next flash car they can own.

He's come out with this s*** before and it didn't change him then, why should he be given any slack?  He said the same after signing for us then went out on the piss in Liverpool and ended up doing time for it.  He's a nutter and has no right to preach to others.

Maybe cos it seems that he has actually done things to change himself rather than just talking about it. He has stopped drinking which is not the easiest thing in the world to do. He also wasn't in Tiger Tiger having a set to with fans on Monday night was he? Or chucking glasses at people over this christmas time was he? Two years have passed. When does he have to do to prove that he has changed?

Fair bit of media influence rests on the reputation of Barton. You can guarantee if he had injured a Wigan player rather than a Liverpool player last season the media wouldn't have cared anywhere near as much, also Shearer didn't handle it well in my opinion, a spat with a player in the dressing room should never make its way to the media. It always seems to though.

His interviews are always decent because he talks like a fan, much like Bellamy and Carragher, and that one interview with Lampard where he totally destroyed that DJ. The thing with Barton is though, and Im sure he understands this himself, is that the trouble he's got into is a damn-sight worse than any footballers lifestyle, particularly if those players are still producing the goods on the pitch. Barton, whether through injury, suspension or form still hasn't done it for us at all imo.

Its a sad state of affairs when you talk someone up by saying they haven't chucked a glass at someone over Christmas.

Also the last part, he simply needs to walk the walk, but Im sure he knows that.

To be fair, if he gets and stays fit, he'll fucking rape this league the rest of the season.

The whole point though is what does he have to do to prove he has changed? Ok, so maybe he isn't the best person Radio 4 should have asked, but in the end they asked him about it not the other way round.

Like I said, he just needs to get on with it, which tbf it seems like he's doing. If he plays and gets back to good form for us, without getting into trouble Im sure we'll all think he's turned a new leaf. Look at Bowyer, complete prick on and off the pitch when he wants to be, but his past troubles are barely spoke about these days, its all 'purple patch' and 'regained his form'. It's simply the let your football do the talking cliche that's so often the best way to make everyone overlook the fact that you're a complete radgie.

Or he may just continue to be a 'nothing special' player for us on the pitch, as he has been for most of his time here when he hasn't been injured/suspended/in prison.

He's probably about right, but he's the last person who should be commenting on anyone else's lifestyle.

Can't help him in the dressing room either.

Just seen the Christmas interviews on nufc.tv and all the players commented on Barton's generosity tbh.

Were we in the PL getting dicked every week I'd agree, but in this league you get masses of time and space on the ball, will suit him down to a tee when he's fit.

What a massive cunt you are Joey, whatever you say about anyone else will never detract from that.

Give me a self centred money waster like Oba Martins over a violent thug one step away from a life in prison any day of the week.

Joey Barton, Lee McCormick, Lee Hughes, Godwin Okpara, and O.J. Simpson should get together and start a coalition to eradicate this bad behavior from players lives off the pitch.

Howay man. Joey Barton didn't kill anyone. Aye he's a bad bugger, but that is a shite comparison.

then again bartons actions were intentional whereas hughes and mcormicks though stupid and dangerous, they didn't actually set out to harm anyone.
