The old Chris Hughton discussion thread

Recommended Posts

Someone is muck raking for sure, but with Ashley at the helm, you are never sure of what he will do next. Lose to the mackems on Sunday and the pressure will be cranked up further. And perhaps so it should be, given that it would be 5 home games without a win. That said, Hughton has done a good job and I'm not for having him removed at this stage. He got us back up and has us competing on a shoe-string budget. In a way I'm surprised other clubs have not come in for him because he has shown he has some nous as a manager.

I cannot wait for the day Mike Ashley sells this club-  he is a parasite.

Why are people getting all worked up and pissed off with Ashley for this? its an absolute non-story, thats clear as day.

Graham Cuntney said this on talksport this morning: 'Somebody inside the club has offered his job around for the past three weeks, that is no secret to many people'

Strange thing to say if Ashley is innocent as you think

the table does lie a little bit. yeah we're 9th, but we've played half of the teams in the league yet still not arsenal, chelsea, liverpool or spurs. so we've definitely had easy-ish fixtures so far and been far from convincing.

not using that as an argument to sack hughton though because, as we've already said, that shouldn't even be discussed yet. its lunacy.

You dont even want to know the reply from Alan Brazil to that......

No please do Roger...

It was along the lines of 'how can the fans put that sort of pressure on him' as if its all our fault. Balloon headed muppet that he is.

But we have played Man U, Aston Villa, City and Everton.

which i believe is an easier four than the other. add in those easy 3 home games too, and we should really have more points than we do.

Idont think anyoone has put any pressure on, a few on here have chucked their toys out the pram after a couple of home defeats but that was just an immediate reaction to a bad result/bad game for the team.

No one I speak to wants him jacked.

Weird.

Its always the fans that are to blame for some weird reason.

More lazyness from the media.

Thats exactly it mate, other than a few on here i dont know anyone either that wants him out. Sure we all have greivances with the odd decision but thats the nature of football in the end. The only pressure really is that its a results business and it never looks good when home games are lost and some fans decide to boo. The idea of swapping him for Pardew or the like sickens me as i really cant see how it could improve us tbh.

Crumpy is the only one I know who really wants him out. Toons Taylor have been rather critical of him, but I'm not sure he wants him out.

that's what i thought, so in reality the "overreaction" is actually on behalf of people assuming/implying other people want him out when they actually don't
