Paully
What was it then, a bad result, an ok result? 2 wins in 14 ignores the 10 games or so before that. We weren't doing well as such but enough for mid-table. We were mid-table after an EASY start to the season! We'd have been lucky to get 2 wins in the 14 matches after the managerial fraudster was binned! He'll be peddled by Blackburn!
madras
Absolutely nowt in the first part of that season leads me to believe we would have been relegated. As for the part in bold, you've missed my point love. i can only assume you didn't go to the matches.
madras
The Blackburn match was a complete s***-kicker and f***ed me off after totally dominating a match, the Boro match we would have won if the ref had done his job and the Manure game had one one of the best atmospheres we'd had in years. And s***, we scored two goals against far superior opposition. We'd have been at the edge of our own penalty area under the last manager at that point. The Derby match at home though - one of thier fourteen points in the league that year. Inept management. But that had f*** all compared to the stupid f***ing line-up he played against Liverpool. N'Zogbia on the right. Milner on the left. Geremi as right full back. It was almost as if he was trying to get sacked. And then we had the once in three lifetimes Portsmouth debacle, that you haven't taken on board but try to use a bi-annually win against Everton as a plus. f*** off. You're talking s****. similar dodgy line up away at sunderland where we fluked a draw. unfortunatly it seems ronaldo is only looking at results and not performnces which were poor throughout the season. Dr Venkman
I'm not sure what you're getting at. But beating Everton at home was a good result, as was doing Fulham away. By December we'd accumulated 26 points, that's hardly a blueprint for relegation. jesus christ
Guest
We then went on a crap run where I don't think Allardyce would have picked up on, and I'm not convinced either that Allardyce would have turned it around to beat the likes of Fulham, Reading, Spurs & Sunderland. Whether it was by chance or genius, I'm not sure Allardyce would have stumbled upon the 4-3-3 that saved us.

Shearergol
Is it not obvious by now that Ronaldo is always just looking for bites? Nobody in their right mind would try to defend Allardyce's time with us.

Dave
What's wrong like? Under the circumstances (terrible team, terrible manager, terrible performance, terrible match) it was a great result.

Or is this just fantasy? Caught in a poor team, Try to hoof it to victory, Open your eyes, Just stop telling lies and see, We’re just a poor team, we have no quality, Because its easy come, easy go, Just like that Elrio, Any way the Blues scores, doesn’t really matter to me, To me. Grella, just skinned a man, Put the ball between his legs, But he slipped and now he’s dead. Givet’s game has just begun, But Nelsen’s gone and thrown it all away. Roberts!!! Oooohh!!! Didn’t mean to make us lose, He couldn’t score if we played til tomorrow, Carry on, carry on, cos we are Blackburn Rovers. Big Sam, your time has come, Sends shivers down my spine, When you say that we played fine . Goodbye, Morten Pedersen, you’ve got to go, Gotta leave you far behind with your long throws. Nikola!!! Oooohh!!! (anywhere the ball goes) I’m not gonna lie, I sometimes wish you’d never been bought at all. I see a little overweight South African, Benni Mac, Benni Mac, will you do a back heel. Hoilett quick as lightning, Jacobsen is frightening me. Franco Di Santo, Franco Di Santo Franco Di Santo, Franco Di Santo Where’s the goal I don’t know We’re just a poor team, nobody likes us, He’s just a right-back too old for madrid, Spare me this game from this monstrosity. Nobody in their right mind would try to defend Allardyce's time with us. starting to become the new NE5 Says you, who only signed up to the forum in the first place to have a go at Allardyce. I'm by no means a fan of the guy, wouldn't want him anywhere near the club in an ideal world. But those saying we'd have got relegated don't really have a leg to stand on, the results and points tally from the first 5 months of the season strongly suggest that we'd have been safe with him. AyeDubbleYoo
I had never been as terrified of relegation as under Allardyce. Obviously what happened after he left was even worse, but he was absolutely shite... no two ways about it.
