Stu
Full credit to Williamson and the physios that he's come straight into the team, during an injury 'crisis', after 3-4months out and managed to slot straight back into the team with only half a (very leggy) reserve game under his belt. Hasn't suffered any recurrences of his previous injury (touch wood) and for the last couple of games he's looked back to full health. A pleasant change from the 'bad' old days of rushing players back too soon for them to hobble back into the treatment room. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew says defender Mike Williamson's return after an ankle injury has been crucial in their recent mini revival. "We have had two clean sheets from Mike in four games, and that's fantastic. It just goes to show how he has conditioned himself in that time off. He can be very proud of himself," well done Mike, another clean sheet today please.
Minhosa
It's no coincidence that we've looked so good at the back since his return. No nonsense, sound centre back.
Ronaldo
Very good in the air today. He hates having the ball, though.
JH
His no nonsense defending is good, but he was too no nonsense today. A lot of wasted hoofs forward and headers away when he had time and space.
Minhosa
Very good in the air today. He hates having the ball, though. Not as much as 'Lumpit Simpson'. The amount of possession he costs us from our own half is an absolute joke.

Minhosa
I don't think we've missed Taylor since he came back. Agreed. Compare today and Blackburn to Norwich and we're a million miles away.
Pata
We are good with Colo, Saylor and Williamson. Just need someone to cover them. Edit. And that's why we shouldn't put our few pennies on someone like Samba in my opinion.
Sifu
He has always been a solid CB for me. It was imperative that as soon as Saylor got injured that we get Willo back as soon as we could. Just had a feeling that our defence would look alright when he was fit again. (Would also like him to score a goal for us one day!)

Jayson
We'd had 1 clean sheet in 8 before he came in. 3 Clean sheets in 4 matches now since he came back for us. Has quietly made us far more solid again.
Cajun
Really is amazing we signed him for an absolute pittance, he is a very capable premiership centre back. If we could get another like him we would be laughing!

Ritchie
Three clean sheets in five games since he returned. Not bad at all.

JH
Unbelieable that he couldn't even get a game at Portsmouth like.
Guest Heneage
Very very poor on the ball though, same as Simpson. I'm not sure if it's because they play opposite Coloccini and Santon but the pair of them always look petrified on the ball.
Ishmael
3 clean sheets in 5 games since Mike Williamson returned to give us a full compliment of CBs on the pitch. We've only lost twice all season when we've had two proper CBs on the pitch for 90+ minutes and those were away games to Manchester City and Liverpool. Guest neesy111
Coloccini plays better next to Williamson / Taylor as he knows how they will defend unlike when Perch is next to him.
