Benwell Lad
Might as well put it in here. Paul Collingwood may support the wrong team, but congratulations on a wonderful test career which has ended with an Ashes series victory. A great ambassador for the sport and the region, and a great all round player.

Dr.Spaceman
Mackem at work reckons Wellbeck is definitely missing the Derby, and although Meyler's injury is not as bad as first feared, he's still out for 2 months.
Guest TheSummerOf69
From the Mirror via BBC gossip page: Sunderland's Asamoah Gyan had booked a winter break under the impression that English football stopped at Christmas. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/9346766.stm

Ginola
Anything near our first eleven and we'll beat them. Wouldn't think so, obviously we can beat them, but they've got a decent side too. Still be happy with a point.
Benwell Lad
Anything near our first eleven and we'll beat them. Don't get carried away. Their league position is impressive but doesn't really equal the general level of performance, they've had a lot of lucky and narrow wins. They tend to be consistently average while we're very good or very bad. Just think on the day our first choice eleven would be better suited to the occasion and I'd expect our cost-nothing local lads up front to do better than their megabucks mercenaries. Oh and then of course there's Titus.......................
broonalegeordie
a draw would please me. at the end of the day their aim has to be european qualification whereas ours is to survive.
Guest neesy111
I'll take a draw now. The first 20-30 mins they are going to throw everything at us, and we must be prepared to withstand it.
Dave
Think it's a potentially winnable game but a point would be a very good result.

madras
no matter how good we've been, no matter how bad they've been, i'll always take a point beforehand. we've always had more to lose than them.
