Guest Wearside
You don't live in Sunderland then? Yep I do, Tunstall. One of the better areas in Sunderland. The whole point of this discussion is that Newcastle has a good City Centre but like every other major city, has utter shitholes once you leave the City Centre despite many on here believing that Newcastle is some sort of wonderful place to live, it's not, it's a shithole. Guest Wearside
This is getting pretty desperate now. Sunderland = shit hole. Newcastle = not a shit hole. Everyone is aware of this, you can tell from the various Mackem excuses about lack of investment compared to Newcastle from the council etc. It's not even up for debate. Aye Newcastle is lovely. Places like Walker, Byker, Benwell and Heaton are wonderful places, would make me so proud if I lived in those areas. Heaton? Pretty nice actually. Not like you to talk shit on things you don't have a clue about. Heaton is an utter shithole, used to see a lass from Chillingham Road for about 3 year and it's a not a place I'd want to live. Which end? Not far from the Chillingham Arms, I also had the misfortune to experience the Raby Hotel on a few occasions.

The Prophet
Of course Newcastle has its shitholes, everywhere does. However, the fact Sunderland players choose to reside in Newcastle rather than the city that they are employed in speaks volumes. Just saying like. Guest Heneage
Still annoyed we weren't in for him. He fits the bill for us, young, potential to grow. Mind you I think he'd have favored a move to Sunderland over us given the choice. I would have wanted him too, why do you think he would have favoured Sunderland though? Scared of big crowds? Not only the Bruce factor (he managed him at Birmingham for a year in which he really flourished) but also the fact he's likely to be given more chances there. After a misfiring Gyan he's ahead of Whickham and Di Jong. Here he'd be behind the likes of Shola, Ba and fighting against Best, Lovenkrands. I'm not saying that's right it's very wrong but sadly it's true.

Pardew may have chosen to stick with Shola and Lovenkrands in the past due to lack of options/unwilling to test the youth, but theres no way he'd be thick enough to start either ahead of Bendtner. And there is also no way Bendtner would have thought that either.

Neil
Just for the purposes of this really stupid pointless argument, according to Google Maps it takes 26 minutes to drive from Newcastle to Durham, it takes 29 minutes to drive from Sunderland to Durham. Yet Durham is still a 95% Sunderland stronghold. More Sunderland season card holders from Durham than there is from Sunderland according to last survey done. No one gives a flying fuck.
