Take this how you will....my colleague at work who is a man utd fan, his mate has just texted him saying that a 14 million pound player is expected to sign in the next couple of days for NUFC.

Original source, someone high up in NUFC.

People will say any old shit when they're high, just look at Jonny.

Total bollocks. We won't spend £14m on any player

I think you're wrong, if the player has talent and is young then we will.

You have to look at the player as an asset.

Grasping at straws but the bbc gossip page links Berbatov with a £14m move to Valencia today. Having said that it also links an article from something like footybunker.com saying Liverpool are turning to Wayne Bridge instead of Enrique. Shame, because it would be a good reference page if they just linked to newspaper stories.

What since Ashleys reign started gives you the impression that we will spend 14mil on one player?!?

Reds Give Up on Jose Enrique: Wayne Bridge Targeted Instead....?!

Bleacher Report - Karl Matchett - ‎2 minutes ago‎

Well, perhaps not the most reliable of sources, but footybunker are claiming that Liverpool have given up hope of signing Newcastle United left back Jose Enrique and are instead focussing their efforts on Manchester City's unwanted former England ...

Just my opinion but it looks like we are doing everything on the cheap and nothing so far gives me any

confidence in us spending more than £10m on anyone

Expect Gibson and some more cheap signings to 'strengthen' the squad

reputedly handing out 6kpw wages isn't cheap. there is a difference between value and cheap.

Diego (25 yrs wants move to Prem)

Lass Diarra (Madrid want to sell for 20m €)

Mario Gomez (Bayern Striker - PLeeeaaase!)

Benzema (Compensation for the Owen deal...)

And then sold off Milner for £12 mill to make a profit.

In what world is £5m cheap? Its 1.5 Tiote's.

£5m is a waste of money if its spent on Gibson, we'd get a much better return from Gardner or £2m Ireland.

I wouldn't mind a £5m RB & a £5m CB either. A £5m RW and a £5m striker wouldn't go amiss either.
