Guest
4-5 websites now with quotes from Borriello's agent and interest from us & Genoa. Going to try and use a crappy Google translator.
ponsaelius
Borriello is a complete non-starter for sure. Not the type of player we'd go for at all.
Guest WisconsinMagpie
Quotes from Borriello's agent. That says it all. I assume he's trying to stoke interest and/or the price. I speak Italian if you want to post the links. I'm not finding anything attributed to anyone, nor is there anything in the regular Italian media that I can see so far. Guest
It was quotes from Tiberio Cavalleri (guessing he's Roma president) saying there's no way he'll be selling him (I think). http://www.laroma24.it/archivio/43782/mercato-roma-ag-borriello-la-roma-lo-riscattera-montella-non-credeva-che-potesse-giocare-insieme-a-totti.html EDIT: It's his agent, feck knows what he's saying. Guest
Exactly... "The addition of Mark in the negotiations between Genoa and Milan? Nonsense, A possible sale after his ransom? do not think you can think of to sell a player who has scored 17 goals and has procured eight penalties. Dave
Denies talks with anyone and says he is staying at Roma.
Guest
Probably his way of gaining interest, bigger pay, etc.
Guest WisconsinMagpie
It's the agent denying the rumors. Saying Roma wants to keep Borriello despite the fact Montella didn't think Borriello and Totti could co-exist on the pitch, but he's spoken with 7 or 8 other managers who think that's not the case, and Borriello did well in spite of it. Guest Heneage
Sounds like his Agent is trying to secure his future at Roma.

Greg
Just says we are interested and that he has a €5m release clause.
Ketsbaia
Unless it specifically names Newcastle, Tottenham and Everton, I don't take rumours seriously. Although that one does mention a €5m release fee.

dinotheprehistoricgeordie
If we're going to go for a cheap striker I'd much rather we went for DJ Campbell.
oldtype
If nothing else, for the sole purpose of preventing him from scoring against us. a.k.a "The Ryan Taylor Trick"
dinotheprehistoricgeordie
He's done well this season as well though. 13 goals is decent. Rather take a chance on him than Boothroyd.
themanupstairs
If nothing else, for the sole purpose of preventing him from scoring against us. a.k.a "The Ryan Taylor Trick" We should go for Tchoyi as well while we're at it
Chicken Dancer
Can't help but laugh at the Journal. Article number one; 'United in £10 million bid for Kevin Gameiro' which states a deal could be done also includes patter that Pardew is meeting Gervinho this week. Article number two, about Gosling, right at the end ; however, United are unlikely to sign target Kevin Gameiro. Eh?

Skirge
Newcastle chase 'new Drogba' Posted: 2011-05-25 12:33 Sierra Leone international Teteh Bangura, who is likely to line-up against Bafana in the last Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in October, is being chased by English Premier League club Newcastle United. The 21-year-old has been dubbed the ‘new Didier Drogba’ since joining AIK Stockholm earlier this year, where he has scored four goals in his first eight games this season. Bangura previously played in the Swedish second division and at FC Kallon in Freetown before that. AIK have already rejected other offers for Bangura. Sierra Leone’s top striker Mohamed Bangura also plays at the Swedish club but is out of form so far this season. Both players are expected to feature for Sierra Leone against Niger in Freetown next weekend in their next group match. Bafana Bafana play Egypt in Cairo in the other group match on the same weekend.
