The year after he came back from Birmingham, he had a good year. I find the hate for him ridiculous really. He was past his best its not really his fault if he was being picked.

Good luck to the bloke and thanks for his efforts. Was ludicrosuly made the scapegoat after that horrendous day in Cardiff and although seemingly accepted at SJP, has been a long time whipping boy on here.

Glad he's going, but agree with this in the main..

What's all this 'model professional' business, like? He's out in town, spackered, more than Nolan and Ranger put together!

thought he might have signed with oldham for a season, what with him being a fan and that.

That's Paul Scholes (unless Butt is a fan as well but I've never heard anything about it)

Butt is a City Fan as far as I know.

Got a tattoo of the City crest on his calf ?!

Aye, apparently so.

And for all his experience and character he's quite good at hiding from responsibility on the field.

This is what used to irritate me about him. He often looked busy without really showing any leadership or initiative. Often played a team mate into trouble.

Carbon copy of Smith in that respect.

I said to someone at work he would get a gig in the North West. Hope he does well for them

As for him having a City tatto it is a urban myth.

Pretty sure that I remember my mate saying he knows him and has seen it, could always be bullshitting like.

Found this from 90's

NICKY Butt wants it put on record that he does not have a Manchester City tattoo on his arm. An urban myth has

lingered around the local boy soon-to-be-made good from the moment he emerged from Gorton, one of Manchester's

traditional City-supporting districts, to make his United debut six-and-a-half years ago.

"I get stick about it all the time, even now," said Butt. "I don't know where they get it from. I've worn short sleeves

before,

but people still seem to think I've got a tattoo."

That was after he explained he did not have it on his arm. Haway man do you really think he was playing word games when he denied having it on his arm.

No idea, but he's hardly going to admit to it, even if it was true, whilst he's at ManU. I have no idea if it's true or not, like.
