Jayson
Its probably just the altitude more so, but i doubt the ball is helping. Seen the likes of Brazil yesterday, Messi, Lampard etc put freekicks high and wide. No one seems capable of curling it with any real accuracy, apart from what looked like a fluke freekick from that guy from france that nearly hit the top corner. Was about the best effort so far. Cronky
I don't know if Beckenbauer's 'kick and rush' comments about England have been discussed yet, but I think it'll do the team a power of good. They were playing under a lot of pressure against the US, and someone dismissing their chances will release some of that. Not to mention giving them the incentive to prove him wrong. Well done, Kaiser Franz. More of it, please.
Keefaz
What I don't quite get is the claim that the ball is lighter than ever, every time. When I was a kid the better balls were 'official size and weight' - don't they bother with that any more? It's not an exact weight limit but a min and max weight, I think. It is, but as Dave said they were always saying "lightest ever" even over a decade ago so they were surely stretching the limit already... probably been nowhere left to go for a while. M4
Barry starts against Algeria btw. Fantastic... but at the same time I hope this doesn't mean Gerrard will be shifted to the left. Saw a very Liverpool-like Gerrard against the USA, wouldn't want to tinker with him.
