I can see both sides of it. It's a definite handball but if Gomes has picked it up then play should just continue and you play to the whistle. That said it's a bit fucking snidey of Nani to just roll it in after Gomes drops it down.

The lino has to be stronger though.

like fletcher said- If Nani dosent put it in, fergie dries his hair.

so motd are pointing out that the refs have favoured man utd

AND LAUGHING ABOUT IT!?!?!?!

Yeah but it's funny because it wasn't against one of the top clubs. And funny about Rio because he's England captain.

Hilarious!

Gomes has to take a lot of the blame.

Yep.

With 5 minutes to go and chasing the game he should be getting rid of that ball asap. If he'd slung it out there was a break on, never mind waiting and rolling it out in front of him.

Was a very poor decision from Clattenburg but I can see why it was given.

f***ing City and their stupid spending.

Just dawned on me that Chelsea paid £60m for Drogba, Lampard and Essien, and City paid £50m for Lescott and Milner. There's absolutely no excuse for it. They're getting exactly what they deserve; rubbish performances from players motivated by money.

Lee Dixon just said they need to buy a striker in January.

The combined transfer fees of the strikers they have on their books at the moment is approximately £100million.

They're not even buying top quality players, though. In their squad they have only two "top bracket" PL players - Tevez and Kompany. Everyone else (Hart and A.Johnson aside - they will be top bracket in a year or two) is second or third bracket imo.

It's easy enough to give Mancini £100m but in the end he's still playing in the same soft play area as the likes of Everton, Villa, Liverpool etc and just paying over the odds for that standard of player.

The purchases of Balotelli and Kolarov look fucking horrendous at this stage.

Re Man U - It was a goal.

In 95% of cases, the ref plays advantage in that situation, allowing the keeper to clear the ball quickly rather than making them take a free kick from the same spot that they gathered it. Gomes didn't have his brain in gear.

And where was the advantage?
