Leazes1986
Press reports on Wednesday claimed that Newcastle striker Leon Best had sustained ankle ligament damage during training on Tuesday. The 23 year-old striker is reported to be seeing a specialist in London and to have had a scan. It's speculated that he could be out for at least three months. Without trying to sound a cunt, this could be a blessing

Leazes1986
Just putting a posistive spin on it, as well as Hughton probably needing a new striker now, it might put a bit more urgency to get this Arfa deal done one way or another so we can move on. David28
Hughton plays another great trick here. This will convince Ashley that we'll need to buy/at least loan out a striker. Kinnear was allowed to buy Nolan and Raylor because of the injuries to Barton and Beye in 2009 - so I guess that now Hughton could be allowed to spend a few million for a new striker. Leazes1986
How would we get Bellamy though? Theres quite a few stumbling blocks. His age, transfer or loan fee and his big wages being the main ones. I don't see how we would overcome them with Ashley like. Also, something tells me Hughton wouldn't quite fancy having someone like Bellamy around the place. I hope I'm totally wrong though, a fit Bellamy would keep us up. Minhosa
He played the back end of last season with brain damage so a sore foot should see him back for the Man Utd game.
Guest Roger Kint
Dont worry folks, someone came into work today convinced his brother saw Stephen ireland at SJP yesterday........... We are desperately short and even Best is a loss, will we deal with it and replace him though?

Leazes1986
I think we'll definitely replace him. Hughton clearly doesn't fancy Ranger yet. If we're talking of signing any big name players though then I would think Robbie Keane is a lot more likely than Bellamy. He's Irish, got a good attitude and he's probably on less than Bellamy. Yorkie
This is not good news and anyone saying it's a blessing in disguise wants to have a word. If it's an excuse to definitely sign another striker, i'd say it's a bit of a blessing. It does sound like a serious injury mind, meaning we wouldn't be able to sell him, so i do see where you're coming from.
Leazes1986
This is not good news and anyone saying it's a blessing in disguise wants to have a word. Why? Best is absolutely shite and it looked like we weren't going to sign another striker. Now we are left with 4 strikers, one of who is a 18/19 year old not ready yet and that might just be the thing which makes us go for a new striker. If we replace Best with better then it would be a blessing.
