TRon
Tiote was pretty decent I thought, other than his obligatory lunatic tackle. Maybe Anita would have been better, who knows but that doesn't mean Tiote was bad.
Guest K9
Tiote had a terrible game man, how did he not get sent off?! He kept running away from the ref so that probs helped
The College Dropout
First they came for Simpson, then Williamson, then Jonas, now Tiote. He was fully decent. Against Spurs Cabaye should've got sent off but nobody used that as a stick to beat him with. Straight red all day. Tiote's always collected yellow cards, always has and probably will. We now have real options so it shouldn't be such a problem but now it's a heinous crime to pick up yellows?

Against a better side, we could've conceded on the break after he went off. Nothing wrong with playing him for an hour in the hope we don't concede in that period. We created some good chances regardless so it's not a major issue. Anita's quick but is he effective at breaking up counters in the PL? Plus, some are saying Perch should've started which is just BS. Anita instead of Tiote? Perhaps. Doesn't mean Tiote had a terrible game like some have said.
The College Dropout
I'd rather have Tiote over Anita than Jonas over Marv tbf. Even at home we need some real cover in midfield.
buzza
As someone stated, apart from the looney tackle he had a very good game last night. He broke up a lot of their play and his energy and bite was cracking
buzza
In general I think he tries to play positive football with regard to his passing.
mozy
People seem to try and use his yellow cards against him every game, it doesn't mean you played badly because you got booked ffs, especially as a defensive mid

Hughesy
I thought he was absolutely fine last night. Not vintage Tiote, but certainly good enough.

Cabaye does make at least one bad challenge in most games, but people don't pick up on it as he's pegged as one of our more cultured players. Not to mention his corners are atrocious. Let's be clear here though, he's still a cracking player. The point is we should look at the whole game rather than pick up one or to faults to grumble about, and that's how Tiote should be judged as well. Smal
I don't like to keep bringing up stats, but I feel it's necessary here. Perch certainly keeps hold of the ball a lot better than Tioté. Perch: Pass completion this season - 88.8% Dispossessed per game - 0.3 Turnovers per game - 0.4 Key passes per game - 0.5 Tioté: Pass completion - 83.6% Dispossessed per game - 1.6 Turnovers per game - 1 Key Passes per game - 0.6 I'm not saying Perch is a better/more effective player here, but he keeps the ball a lot better than Tioté does. Perch has played a few games at centre half, but it shouldn't make that much of a difference. How many passes does Tiote make per game? People say his passes are simple, backwards and square. I'd like to see the distance compared to Perch. I'm certain Tiote makes more passes than Perch and they're more ambitious. That's why I put the key passes stat in there as well. Tioté may well try a lot more ambitious passes, but he doesn't actually end up making any more important ones than Perch does.

We overlook some players' faults and hyper analysis other players' faults. When he's poor i'll be the first to point it out. Yesterday he was fine. Guest bimpy474
Tiote is a great player and will get back to good form if he gets a run of games, but it's the deliberate trips when a player is past him that drive me mad. There's no way he will get away with them or deserve to tbh. He does it and then gives himself no chance of getting the run of games (suspended) he so readily needs to get his form back. Always feels like the lad has no common sense to me.

Look at the chalkboards man. Tiote's passing is better. If I have time i'll throw on the diagram's. Tiote's passing is a significant step up.
Smal
I don't really think Tioté needs to be making direct ambitious passes though. I'd much rather his passing was as simple and easy as Perch's. That's how it was when Tioté first joined the club and I think we'll all agree that was by far his best form for us. Smal
When the situation calls for what? Tioté trying to make daft passes that he's not capable of? I don't think such a situation ever arises. Especially when Cabaye and Sissoko are on the pitch next to him.
Guest reefatoon
Tiote is the New Ba.. . . The "Ministry of Moan" have now selected their new target. Nothing will change their opinion now.
