Steven Taylor (now retired)

Recommended Posts

He was/is a top player, only the stupid & uneducated would suggest otherwise.

England u21 captain and solid professional. Injuries hampered his career at the very top.. But loves the club and tried his best.

Give me a Steven Taylor over the plethora of foreign imports that conned a living any day of the week.

All the best Tayls lad!

He stayed one contract too long. He only ever looked on top of his game when someone alongside was playing well. He never stood out as THE centre half.

Aye, he always needed a better CB next to him.  I still think he was a worse defender than Williamson the last 2 years.

The CB positions have been like a running joke for a long time. Hopefully Lascelles and Mbemba will be like a changing of the guard - long long overdue.

Seen the "he always gave 100%" comment a few hundred times in the last 24 hrs. Even from intelligent people.

Did he turn down a contract extension? I reckon he'll end up at Hull.

Is it not true?

What element?  The 100% comment is a myth in general, no footballer gives it 100% all the time on the pitch.

And if you're shit it's irrelevant.

Some class quotes in the Chronicle about him being told he is always welcome at the training ground.

Blatantly going to be like David Brent who keeps returning to the office uninvited

He's clearly never playing again and going to end up working under Steve Wraith on the talk-in gravy train.

'It's just fist pumping'

'Shall I say you want to do less fist pumping?'
