Not sure he's ruthless enough to be a manager, especially a top one, but really hope he makes it and finds his way back over here.

Yeah he's a nice guy which cuts both ways. Fingers crossed.

Model pro and exactly the sort of character you want at your club regardless.

I remember it feeling very important and a hell of a relief at the time

The John Carver Era - what a time to be alive

Sissokos was obviously far more important, ignoring the fact as Yorkie says we could have lost in the end

He was top class in many ways. Attitude, ability to carry the ball and go past players and buy free kicks. Shame he wasn't that talented in kicking the ball but doubt he would've played for us if that was the case.

Will always remember him fondly.

A few similarities between him and Miggy I think. Very one-footed, grafted, end product should have been a whole lot better, love them both to bits.

Agree. He also had a great partnership with Enrique.

Keegan's comment when asked about Jonas's spiderman mask which he kept in his shorts then whipped out when he scored...."It must start to smell a bit" or words to that effect.

I know that was a backhanded dig at his shooting prowess, but for where we were at the time he was actually one of our better players just because he could carry the ball up the pitch.

An incredibly likeable player. Completely agree with the Miggy comparisons. If he was with us now we’d be having the same discussions that we do about Miggy. Jonas’s ability at striking a ball was so poor. In my top ten Newcastle players of my lifetime. We should do a thread on our top ten favourite players irrespective of their ability

He's getting paraded at SJP at the Brighton game

Love Jonas, will give him a huge reception

We should have brought him over for Saturday, he loved playing Wolves.

Jonas was more an athlete and a bit more technically gifted (still wasn't the best) but he was great for where we were.

He was beautifully frustrating Jonas like.

Feel he had a bit more going on upstairs than miggy does but both woeful in the shooting stakes

His penchant for winning fouls and breaking up play was first class mind.
